    Shocked you didn’t mention basewars.

Bases Loaded 2: The Second Season on NES is my all time favorite baseball game. It was ahead of it’s time with the strategies and player algorithms that really played a part in the game. Knowing when to sub within your bullpen was an integral part to winning 75 of the 125 games needed to advance to the playoffs. Also the behind the mound camera view was outstanding for offense and defense. The players would actually have a fight if the pitcher hit the batter too many times. Overall my favorite baseball sim.

“Ken Griffey Jr. MLB Baseball” is still one of my all-time favorite baseball games along with SNK’s “Baseball Stars”!

  4. SonicMrSumo on January 14, 2022 at 3:49 pm

No Sports Talk Baseball?…WTF! Groundbreakng with play by play commentary, all MLB teams, full rosters, pitcher fatigue and a full season…defintely the best I played in the 16-bit era.

  5. malBOROkid on January 14, 2022 at 3:51 pm

You’ve gotta try super mega baseball 3!

  6. Midwest Nostalgia on January 14, 2022 at 3:51 pm

Tecmo Super Baseball for the Genesis. It’s never talked about, but hands down has the best fielding and pitching mechanics on 16 bit consoles.

  7. Angg Voagg on January 14, 2022 at 3:52 pm

N64 i think names slugfest ..has griffey on cover and cartridge art…but game was legit first baseball game i played that has a draft.. realistic//ish trades on saseon mode. Not just the build your own all-star team like many old games trade systems ..anyway does anyone know what game i am trying to name..if its not slugfest..?

  8. CAX117 on January 14, 2022 at 3:54 pm

The first and still one of my favorite baseball games was Tommy Lasorda Baseball for the Genesis!

  12. archaea9 on January 14, 2022 at 3:59 pm

Any one ever play High Heat Baseball by 3DO? Loved that in the 2000’s. Liked the customization and realism like the announcers and hecklers.

  13. Saxcat's Gaming Corner on January 14, 2022 at 3:59 pm

Baseball stars 2 for NEO GEO was even better! But I’m impressed with the list!

  14. Innovators Beats on January 14, 2022 at 4:01 pm

MVP Baseball on the PS2 was fun too!

  15. Dirtface 59 on January 14, 2022 at 4:01 pm

    Base Wars – NES
    Baseball Simulator 2000 – SNES
World Series ’98 – Sega Saturn
    Ken Griffey Jr. -N64

  18. Shed on January 14, 2022 at 4:03 pm

GRIFFEY FOR SNES, GRIFFEY FOR N64, Bases Loaded II, Baseball Stars, Dusty Diamonds All Star Softball, World Series ’95 and LIttle League Baseball (NES) that’s all you need for baseball games

  19. Chris Smith on January 14, 2022 at 4:05 pm

OMG. I thought that was a real baseball game.
    That’s amazing.

  20. Joshua Kingdom on January 14, 2022 at 4:05 pm

  22. Enrique Gómez on January 14, 2022 at 4:06 pm

Base Loaded for the NES is my pick n play.

  23. Solaire on January 14, 2022 at 4:06 pm

i grew up playing Tandy TRS80 Color Baseball

  24. supersoundwave on January 14, 2022 at 4:08 pm

Your awesome video made me go out and re-buy some of these. Such great memories.

A little tidbit, Ken Griffey Jr does actually include all of the real players, just not their real names. 🙂

  25. Jon Pecker on January 14, 2022 at 4:09 pm

Baseball stars for the NES fav classic as well the Neo Geo arcade version

  26. Mike C on January 14, 2022 at 4:09 pm

The Show is great but MVP 2005 is the best baseball game ever made

  27. Super Sexy Sega on January 14, 2022 at 4:10 pm

The World Series Baseball series on Genesis dominated the 16-bit era Baseball games. The in the batters box view was legit revolutionary and would inspire so many future Baseball games. As far as arcade style Sports Talk Baseball on Genesis was awesome.

  28. bnyce1 on January 14, 2022 at 4:10 pm

No bases loaded man that was a great game

  29. VG Legends on January 14, 2022 at 4:12 pm

I always liked the follow up to Ken Griffey JRs MLB, which was Ken Griffey JRs Winning Run for the SNES. Nothing will ever beat EA’s MVP Baseball 2005 though. That game was so immersive, the gameplay was so smooth, and the soundtrack is sick. Great video John, especially for all the big baseball fans out there. 🎮😎🤘⚾️

  30. Shinobi Showdown on January 14, 2022 at 4:13 pm

3D Baseball is decent on the PS1.

  31. darrell wooton on January 14, 2022 at 4:13 pm

    MLBPA baseball for the snes

  32. Ashura96 on January 14, 2022 at 4:13 pm

Sega’s World Series ‘99 is my favorite arcade baseball game. Very fast paced and I love the flip lever for swinging the bat. Unfortunately it never got a home port so you would either have to find an arcade cabinet or emulate it.

  33. Nü Savings on January 14, 2022 at 4:20 pm

RBI Baseball II (Amiga) and VR Baseball (Sony Platform). Best retro games 🎮👌

  34. Spencer Dubay on January 14, 2022 at 4:21 pm

MVP Baseball 2004 & 2005. Also Dusty Diamond’s Softball on the NES is a great softball game

  35. tech money on January 14, 2022 at 4:23 pm

    Baseball simulator 1.000 snes

  36. Innovators Beats on January 14, 2022 at 4:24 pm

Triple Play 2000 was always a fav of mine. World Series on the Sega and MLB 2K1 on the Dreamcast was always fun to me too.

  37. Catastrophic 1975 on January 14, 2022 at 4:26 pm

Mine was actually Bases Loaded 2. I loved that game

  38. poncho828 on January 14, 2022 at 4:29 pm

MLB the show is my favorite baseball game franchise

  39. Daniel Santana on January 14, 2022 at 4:29 pm

World series baseball GENESIS hardball 94 . MLBPA baseball.

  40. Slyguy threeonetwonine on January 14, 2022 at 4:29 pm

I owned RBI Baseball ’94 I think? Loved it, still wake up with music from it in my head.

I also had World Series Baseball for the GameGear, I played the mess out of too. Same thing with the music.

I used to rent the "Hardball" series a ton for the Genesis. The first one I was awful at. But 3 and 4 I think got pretty good. I loved being able to rename the players and team and change the logo in that one.

My go to baseball game though is MVP Baseball 05 for the PC.

  41. Matt Baumann on January 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm

    World Class Baseball on TG-16.

  42. [Mr. Veebez] on January 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm

Gosh, Baseball was so much fun! Tap or hold down 1 button to pitch and 1 button to hit. That’s it nothing more is needed! Never played triple play before gonna have to check that one out! Thanks John

  43. Charles Grape on January 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm

    Go Royals!

  44. RGT 85 on January 14, 2022 at 4:34 pm

  45. TJ Letourneau on January 14, 2022 at 4:34 pm

Little League World Series for NES

  46. CTG85 on January 14, 2022 at 4:34 pm

Triple Play 96 was an still is one of the best baseball games along with World Series baseball and hardball. MLB2K5 World Series Edition on OG Xbox is also a great baseball game

  47. C J Heeley on January 14, 2022 at 4:35 pm

    Baseball is boring

  48. scott harris on January 14, 2022 at 4:36 pm

Little League Baseball for the NES was the most played game in my house growing up. 2 player was the way to go. My brothers and I would play rock, paper, scissors to see who got to choose Canada, the best team in the game. But the most fun we had playing was playing as Italy vs Puerto Rico.

  49. Jimmy Huston on January 14, 2022 at 4:40 pm

    😁😁😁😃😃😃👍👍👍❤️

  50. Joey M on January 14, 2022 at 4:40 pm

Baseball Stars on the NES blew me away!! It was so much fun! I used to like Roger Clemens baseball on the NES. I would play with the Braves. The leadoff hitter Otis Nixon had the most power in the game. It was a simple game. Bit very good. But I had fun playing it.
