5 Car Phone Holders Compared!
Here is my comparison of five phone holders for the car. Each one has a different mounting system and all have pretty good ratings on Amazon.

mount the tsumbay to the sun visor
Wow! Thank you for actually "jumping right into it" instead of saying it without doing it.
Great review, and I subd
The suction cup fails if your car gets hot, like if you park it in the sun for a few hours. Its not damaged, but you cant use it until your AC has cooled down your windshield.
And speed bumps arent the problem. Its unpaved roads, and private roads so badly paved they seemed to be constructed out of all potholes alone with no smooth bit.
What the hell is Walter White doing phone clip reviews for???
I want your sunglasses where can I get one
The Topgo is $36.00. You can get it on Ebay for $9.00. It does not have the name Topgo on it but it’s the same unit.
They are all cute the first week. I’m waiting for something that doesn’t break in 3 months.
I bought the beam holder less than a year ago, the spring is shot and keeps falling off the vents now
If you like that one that is horizontal you should just use spray adhesive. you can get it at most hardware stores, and car part stores.
I see you didn’t include the Proclip brand. curious what you think
phony guy…
With the Bosynoy you can’t use the phone as a dash cam and can’t position phone vertical.
All are not good options and not practical.
Here in California when temperature outside is 110 the phone will over heat due to sun rays hitting the phone while mounted if there is no shading with the mounting, also most of these mounting kits has many problems, eg falling while driving, shaking, being horizontal while the phone does not want to unlock in that horizontal and you need to switch to vertical to unlock and then horizontal back the app you want, and the list goes on and on.
The failed one clip was I think for the steering wheel.
Awesome comparisons. There are suction cups and there are suction cups, but the best ones are from Ram Mounts. Their products are certified for mounting ‘electronic flight bag’ iPads onto cockpit side windows.
Try a couple cd mounted phone holders, especially the magnetic ones
the second holder is put on steering wheel, not on spedometer display
I personally like the window mount one.
Just ask a trucker which one works better. Trucks are a lot tougher on the mounts. Bumpier ride and being used much longer in service.
I enjoyed this video but what kind of madman doesn’t have a protective case and/or a pop socket/ring on back?
I bought the window mounted one a day ago, so we will see how it goes.
Luckily, my car has Android Auto built in, so I just plug in my Samsung phone (and I had a LG previously) and use my tablet-style Infotainment screen to view Waze and other apps on my phone. I have both cup holders available and don’t have to spend money on a device to hold my phone!
Sun visor for the clip-on that failed.
So annoyed by the fact there isn’t a good one for me.
I’d love one that sits on my dash, like the clam(p?) one, but my dash is too steep.
The vent ones are all too weak and droop over time.
Winow suction ones can’t take how heavy my phone is, and fall after a while. It makes your window dirty and is too far away.
The cupholder one just doesn’t make sense for me. Cupholder is similar to his in the video, so useless.
The one that is a wannabe HUD I just hate I don’t want it in my face the whole time.
If anyone has one they recommend, please help me out 😭
The suction cup mount should have another locking level. It pops into locking from loose and then you should be able to push the lock down more and it’ll create more suction. It looks like you didn’t lock it all the way.
Keep the great reviews coming!
Just curious, why wasn’t weather tech cup mount not included? These are my experience with phone holders #1) vent mount doesn’t work well. It just doesn’t securely stay in place. It keeps moves and fall sundown time to time 2#) windshield mount has the same problem.#3) the cup mount it doesn’t work for me. You have to get your eyes off the road while you are driving. I am not sure why the cup mounts are so low level.#4) I just ordered a dash mount from Wal-Mart. I am waiting for it.i am a little bit nervous after watching your video. The review from customers on extended arm cupphone holder from weather tech is pretty bad.
*Air vent is worst especially in winter considering when you hop in you car you’ll put the heater on blast and that will cause the phone to overheat*
That windshield one may not work on places with very cold winters since you will need to defrost your windshield.
Who the hell thought the cup holder was a good place for a phone? It’s 90° away from the road and in the vast majority of cars, it’s gonna make shifting significantly less comfortable. Big oof.
since i have a popsocket on my phone at all times, i either have to have the popsocket branded mount, or that clamshell mount would work pretty well.
you should buy five different cars and test all holders in each car to see how versatile each holder is
these need to be tested while a charging cable is attached to each phone!
Dopest Review!!!!!!🙌
Pitiful.
I think im going to get the clamshell one and just use 2 of those 3m velcro type strips on the dash
Hi guys, I find a very heavy duty phone holder on Amazon. I have used over 2 months, no issue at all. Hold my phone with otterbox case securely.

Dr. Robotnick
For the clamshell mount use Velcro strips to remount.
I need one not by the vent ( Jeep renegade) not many options because my phone overheats by the vent (cold location) and Am a freeze baby and not many options for mounting. Great review thanks
all these clamps and suction cups have (moving) parts that will eventually fail. That’s why I now stick to a magnetic phone holder.
The sweat spot on your headrest is….disgusting.
I had a different named beam one and after 8 months the mounting clip got way too loose and kept sliding off my vents
The cupholder is dangerous you got to keep on looking down And taking your eyes off the road!! I am very surprised That you didn’t include that in your CONS LIST!
Maybe the one that you couldn’t get to work because it kept slipping off would work with a dash mat. As far as my favorite I like the Fastball. You can get them just about anywhere the As Seen On TV is sold. The only complaint I have is the phone droops but it will stay on the docking station until you take it off. It will hold Up to a tablet. I have two stations on my dash and two on my garage door opener dock. The two on the dash work great for the GPS and the two on the Garage door opener dock work great for when you need talk on the phone and you don’t need any hands free devices. The Fastball only cost $9.99 each. I also have a docking station on my nightstand, one on my vent-a-hood over my stove for when I’m cooking and you can put em just about anywhere you think one would be handy. They also have it so you can order different types for if you want one for your desk.
Cup holder – You have to have a cup holder, and if you do you can’t use it for cups and other drink bottles etc. Plus it’s in an awkward position, perhaps dangerous too.
Window screen – Those damn suction cups never work, they always fall. Also don’t like the idea of having more stuff in my field of vision on the windscreen itself.
Clam – You have to have it horizontal, and in almost all cases when driving I’d rather it be vertical. Also some phones only have buttons on the side of the phone (like mine), making it more difficult to use.
Air vent – Moves around a bit, eventually it can damage the vent, plus you lose the air vent for warmth or cooling.
Clip – Doesn’t clip on to begin with…
Conclusion – They all suck. I’m still on the hunt. I’m too tired now. I’m just gonna jerk off to thoughts of my ex girlfriend’s big beautiful butt, then I’m going to sleep.
Jesus Christ this guy doesn’t fuck around 😂😂
That cupholder one would suck if you drive manual
The clip mount could have worked better on the straight sun visor as advertised. Plus it’s a cleaner cooler position.
The one you couldn’t get to stay on the dash is for the steering wheel. Don’t you read the instructions on these things before you use them?
The last one that worked is the only one that actually works the best. I had a similar one from the 99 cent store and it was fine for me. The lady had issues because she kept pulling it. So it broke and I can’t find any more at the store. So I ordered two windshield types with the long metal piece since my new phone is heavier. So we’ll see how those work since my windshields are farther which is why I got these. One has a similar mount like your vent type but I don’t trust vent types. Like you said they move too much and I don’t want to break a vent.
