Along the lines of that Ace Combat thing. I hate it in sales like this is when two versions of a game are on sale in the same sale, but are listed nowhere near each other. For example, finding a game you’d been wanting and watching out for, you run across at $9.99. Rather excited, you pick it up. But scrolling through the rest of the sale only to run across the gold edition or deluxe edition or complete etc., of the same game you just got, and at $14.99. Very much worth it. Essentially getting the game for the same $9.99, but also all the pile on extra stuff, full dlcs or season passes, or all the extra characters/ vehicles/ maps etc., for the other $4.99. Far less than the sum of all that stuff or even just the season pass. But what’s there to do. You already shot your load early jumped too fast on the vanilla version. Happened to me twice already. I think I’ve learned my lesson, but still wish they’d put all the related items together on the same page(s).

The combat situation is more common than you think. I’ve seen several games over past sales where the vanilla version is priced more or even full price while the deluxe or special editions are heavily discounted.
Always figured it was a weird sales tactic to get you to impulse buy the special editions since they come with much more content and you are less likely to buy the vanilla version even on discount because you know there is dlc and season passes to buy
