Bit confusing this topic, but when a video game becomes popular enough Hollywood come sniffing for a movie adaptation, so with a free movie license, the original publisher THEN makes another video game based on that movie. It’s a but like Inception, only with more DLC πŸ˜€

I still think Rampage Jackson should have been in the movie, instead of the rock.

  4. ladawg81 on November 26, 2021 at 11:31 am

Autobahnraser on ps2 is just a London racer PC clone. And it was a good game for the time. But not cloned on ps2.

  5. WadelDee on November 26, 2021 at 11:32 am

POP FRENZY! The Emoji Movie Game is a mobile game based on a movie based on an interactive emoticon generator…

  6. ReFriedNoodle on November 26, 2021 at 11:33 am

Thematically, the original Ratchet game was better than the remake. Changing Ratchet’s personality was uncalled for. (As well as some spoilery things) The "unreliable narrator" trope with Quark was used then discarded. Giant middle finger to the fans and another I give right back to them after typing this comment.

lol DEATH FROM BILL AND TED LOL Had to watch it again to make sure.

  8. Anonymous Frog on November 26, 2021 at 11:36 am

Last time I watched this, there was a sponsorship for a mobile game based on the Bleach anime. Where did that go? And why are the captions out of sync?

  9. Autum Breeze on November 26, 2021 at 11:37 am

I remember playing an arcade version of Rampage when I was a kid. Didn’t get to play it nearly as often as I wanted before it was removed from the place it was.

And when it comes to my favourite Ratchet and Clank game, Up Your Arsenal. Still have a copy, but it’s sadly in very rough condition due to my having 5 siblings, 4 of which never understood that leaving the disc lying around can lead to it getting damaged, so it isn’t exactly playable anymore

Ironic probably the worst movie from these did the best in box office gross. What a terrible movie Rampage is. The other films on this list at least had soul to them.

As for Davilex had some interesting properties and while games like Miami Vice and their Knight Rider games weren’t terrible you can see the lack of ambition due to the poor budget they had. Given to bigger studios the Knight Rider games especially could have been really great.

  12. Al Ex on November 26, 2021 at 11:40 am

Guru Larry. The Double Dragon game wasn’t a Neo Geo exclusive. There was a PS1 port too. Because I remember playing it and also it’s featured in a magazine.

The timestamps are all wrong, I think because you edited the video?

  17. JEKitchens on November 26, 2021 at 11:47 am

I have to say it… Street Fighter The Movie the game

  18. The SilentCaay Channel on November 26, 2021 at 11:48 am

12:48 – The Rampage movie also spawned a PCVR game called Project Rampage VR which is now delisted from Steam. Not only was it a pretty solid VR game, it was free! Lucky for me, I added it to my library before it was delisted.

Am I the only one bummed out that Super Mario Bros.: the Movie didn’t get some weird game adaptation?

  20. Crabomax on November 26, 2021 at 11:51 am

I’m glad I didn’t skip the Starscope Monocular ad – epic, might order one; the VO is just missing a, β€œbut, Hello You…”

  26. Cheap Tactics on November 26, 2021 at 11:55 am

So there was a double dragon game based on a movie based on a game based on a tv show based on a game.
    I wonder why it flopped

  27. Jail cat Jones on November 26, 2021 at 11:55 am

King Kong was my favorite movie game

  28. Sir Loin on November 26, 2021 at 11:57 am

The ratchet and clank movie was actually pretty good, I like the game based off the movie too! I can’t wait for ps5 game!

  29. Zack Spiker on November 26, 2021 at 11:59 am

That 90s Rampage gameplay was difficult to watch.

  30. starlimitz2 on November 26, 2021 at 12:00 pm

Wow, I played the Street Fighter II interactive movie. Yes, it was dumb.

Even though this video gave me brain cancer, I still gave it a thumbs up.

  35. Shaggy247 on November 26, 2021 at 12:04 pm

Proud Vita owner here and I greatly appreciated that solemn moment for the Vita. Sony did the Vita dirty. But the fan base is still going strong. I imagine an alternate reality where Sony actually put effort into the Vita and it kept up with the 3DS up until the launch of The Switch.

  36. Warren Jehosephat on November 26, 2021 at 12:06 pm

Fun Fact: Alyssa Milano terminated her pregnancy to be in the Double Dragon movie.

She aborted her unborn child. To be in Double Dragon.

    A fetus died.

THE LEGO MOVIE VIDEOGAME is a video game based on a movie based on a brand of physical toys. Yeah. LEGO isn’t a video game in itself so it wouldn’t have fit into your video but I just wanted to throw it out there.

  38. Matthew Worthy on November 26, 2021 at 12:12 pm

I had London Racer, it was an okay game

  39. Metal Videos on November 26, 2021 at 12:14 pm

I am Dutch but have never heard of those games. They also made red cat. Learning games for kids. Had the whole collection. They where pretty fun.

  40. triledink on November 26, 2021 at 12:14 pm

While the Ratchet and Clank movie got it rough and the game is one of the best selling games for ps4, I could still see them ”trying” to remake the second game (probably without a movie). You could technicaly fit the story of the second game into the 2016 remake universe. Though I still love the original timeline way way more than the remake (or the remake timeline if they ever more ps2 remakes).

  41. Emperor Trevor Norton on November 26, 2021 at 12:17 pm

My mother in law didn’t know that the movie rampage with the rock was based on a video game

  42. Samir Mapelli on November 26, 2021 at 12:19 pm

I’m not super sure about Ratchet & Clank movie, the main product was the game, and then the movie followed with shared assets. Witch means Ratchet PS4 was an original game remake and the movie was the adaptation, and not the other way around.

  43. oliverimhoof on November 26, 2021 at 12:20 pm

I loved Ratchet and Clank on ps4 and hated the movie. I played it on ps2 back in the day and took my daughters to see the movie in theaters. The movie killed R&C in my eyes and the game revived it when it was added to the PS Plus free games line-up.

  44. Ungur Dagda on November 26, 2021 at 12:20 pm

I actually played the Rampage one at a Dave and Busters here in Milwaukee. It’s actually pretty fun with friends. …Probably because it’s literally just Rampage, but with a different coat of paint.

  45. MuchWhittering on November 26, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Of course, Ratchet and Clank PS4’s most interesting feature is being inferior to the original in just about every conceivable way.

  46. WadelDee on November 26, 2021 at 12:23 pm

Are there also movies based on games based on movies?

  47. Tom Adam on November 26, 2021 at 12:24 pm

    Hello guru Barry

  50. Chris B. on November 26, 2021 at 12:25 pm

Is anyone surprised about the Street Fighter game? Capcom is rub by maniacs who are constantly high on cocaine and making decisions on how to develop games by asking children what they want, combining that with random words a monkey points at on a screen, and then sticking that in a blender with more cocaine, shooting that, and then making whatever the fuck comes to mind before they come down.
