How much clearance is necessary for the Panasonic compact microwave oven?
The Panasonic NN-SN97JS is the perfect choice for a big family, it’s capacity is huge compared to some other microwaves (this has 2.2 cubic feet. Other ones usually have 1.2 or 1.3 cubic feet). My wife also loves the stainless steel finish, she says it looks great in our kitchen with the modern styling. It also heats food evenly, even though it’s quite large. Microwave heating is never as good as heating from a conventional oven, but this one comes close in terms of uniformity in heating. There aren’t cold spots that you usually get with a regular microwave. Bit pricy but definitely worth it, in our opinion!

The Amazonbasics microwave is too cute! Yes it’s a bit small but not all microwaves have to be massive anyway. My mom likes the Alexa function, she just doesn’t like using the dials! Alexa makes her life a lot easier that way!
Bought the Toshiba to replace the good old Kenmore which lasted me for 5 years. Hoping the same kind of performance from this Toshiba as well. Does not come with all the bells and whistles but it doesn’t need to. I only need it to last reliably and judging by the Toshiba laptop I’ve been using for 7 years (just installed a fresh SSD, runs like new!) I think it’ll be just as reliable as the Kenmore.
How do you connect the Amazon Basics microwave to the internet to use Alexa?
I’m thinking of buying the Panasonic microwave on your list. However, on it’s Amazon page there are two options, inverter and cyclonic inverter. And the price difference is not minimal, more than $50 difference. Which one should I buy? Is the cyclonic inverter worth the money?
Got the Amazonbasics one for our office without expecting much out of it, but it’s pretty good to be honest. It’s small, smaller than most compact microwaves but no one is going to use it for something too big at the office so we’re good. It also has Alexa capability but we don’t use it, it’s kind of pointless too because if you’re using the microwave you’ll also have to put something in the physically (duh!) and while you’re near the microwave, you might as well just turn it on using the dials.
I liked the compact microwave by Panasonic, the inverter technology really makes a difference when it comes to heating things in a more balanced way as opposed to regular microwave. Especially when I reheat a cup of coffee, for example, the whole coffee as a whole gets hot not just the top and the bottom. If this one breaks down, I don’t think I’ll get a non-inverter microwave again. Good stuff!
Can you see the interior of the Toshiba microwave while it’s running? I like checking on the food, and with some microwaves the light only opens when the door is open but not when it’s running?
The Toshiba microwave was the best fit for our cupboard, so we went with that instead of other microwaves. It fits perfectly, with a couple of inches of clearence on either side. For the price, it gets the job done. My only little annoyance with it is the defrosting settings are way off. If you trust the machine, it will actually start cooking the meat instead of defrosting it. Defroster settings are way too powerful. So just stay vigilant when you’re defrosting stuff in this microwave. Other than that, we’re pretty happy with our purchase.
I thought the cyclonic inverter was just marketing talk and all microwaves were the same when it comes to heating – you would get an unevenly heated food on top of a burning hot plate. The Panasonic NN-SN97JS is the real deal though. It heats up food a lot more evenly than the other microwaves. You will no longer eat a meat pie with that is cold on the outside, warm inside. The waves are really distributed evenly, I was really impressed. The inverter tech is the real deal for microwaves, hope all microwaves adapt this thing in the future!
Not sure what people are expecting out of a microwave oven but the Toshiba EM131A5C has been serving us well. It’s good size and 1100 watts are more than enough. My personal favorite feature is the ability to turn on or off the beeping sound, which is FANTASTIC. If I’m working late in the night, I don’t want the microwave to start beeping and wake up our kid, so I like that. Seems like the most mundane thing, but no other microwave has that feature so I wanted to point that out!

I liked the fact that the Panasonic NN-SN97JS lets the customer choose whether to have a dial or a keypad. I hate dials, but I hate them less than touchscreens so being able to choose a good old regular keypad was just great. And it was the cheaper option compared to the dial, so it’s a win-win!
Are the sides of Panasonic also stainless steel?
