So first off, we have the best overall countertop microwave and that’s going to be the Toshiba 1.2 cubic foot countertop microwave. It has all the necessary features that you would require integrate microwave, including presets for things like popcorn, pizza and veggies. It also has a child safety lock one touch Express buttons for one to six minutes and there is an add 30 seconds button. You can even adjust the power level with this one and has a maximum of 1100 watts. It also feels really good to use and has a great ergonomic handle. There’s even a mute button to turn off beeps and alerts when cooking which is a great feature. Why is my Black & Decker begin Express heating after I press number buttons? I keep pressing 8 and nothing happens?
Hi, so my kid loves to use Alexa after seeing me use it, it’s kind of doing my head in, to be honest! So my question is, what’s to stop a kid from turning on the Amazon Basics microwave on a whim?
What is the wattage for the Hamilton Beach microwave?
Can you turn off the beeping noise for the Toshiba microwave in this video? I always found it annoying, rather than helpful!
Our dinner plates are a little bit big, will they fit on the Breville Compact Wave? They are 10” wide.

Got the Toshiba microwave since it’s one of the rare models that actually come with a handle instead of a button! Amazon Basics and the Breville microwaves also come with a button but they are too darn small! Anyways, I had a bad experience using a microwave with a button and I find ones with handles are a lot more reliable compared to buttons. It’s been 3 months with Toshiba and so far everything is looking great! A full size popcorn bag can fit in the microwave without any of the sides touching it, which is exactly what I was looking for.
This Black & Decker Microwave is just great! We liked the fact that you can order the size that you want, there are a lot of options on the Amazon page. We went with the 0.9 cu.ft because we did not need a huge microwave. Don’t let its small size deceive you though. It’s wide enough to accept all the dinner plates in our house so we don’t have any problems with it. It’s also dead quiet too, at first I did not understand whether it was actually working or not! That’s how quiet it is! Another thing I liked was that the Amazon page clearly shows you the dimensions of the turntable for each size of the microwave, instead of giving me the total dimensions. I need to know the diameters of the turntable to see if I can fit my plates in there! I had a B&D drill but I did not know their kitchen appliances are pretty good though, I’ll keep my open for them! Overall, great microwave, plenty enough power for 900 watts.
I run a small company, so I thought I’d get a small microwave that does the job for my employees. AmazonBasics one fits the bill pretty nicely, it’s compact so it doesn’t take a lot of space in the office. It’s powerful enough, and it was cheap. The small size isn’t an issue most of the time, other than the times we’re staying in late. I like to treat my workers with popcorn for ruining their evening and you can’t use full-size popcorns in this microwave. But since 95 percent of the time, it is used to heat up a cup of coffee or tea, it does the job well. Would highly recommend it if you’re looking for something really compact.
I was surprised to see the Hamilton Beach microwave oven has so few reviews, this guy is simply awesome! Good size and lots of power (1500 Watts!). Has Express Cook and a timer to use in the kitchen which is very practical. Here’s the kicker – it’s under 100 bucks too! Definitely the most underrated microwave oven on this list, check it out if you haven’t already!
After shopping around to replace our Kenmore that bit the dust, I came across this Toshiba microwave, the ML-EM34P. I was a bit worried about other microwaves since they seemed a little small. I wasn’t looking for a huge microwave with all the bells and whistles but I was looking for one that’ll last as long as the Kenmore. This Toshiba checks all the boxes, in my opinion, decent power (less than 1000 watts is a bit too low I think), a decent size that doesn’t take a lot of space. I got the 1.2 cu ft model instead of the 1.3 cu ft because it wasn’t going to fit in our cupboard. 1.2 cu ft is a perfect size, not too big and not too small. And the price is really good too, of course! It doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, unlike other microwaves. This is the sensible choice I think!
