Why I will NOT buy any more Appliances from LOWES
Why I will NOT buy any more Appliances from LOWES
Why I will NOT buy any more Appliances from LOWES
Lowes will not give me my money back or change out my AC unit I bought from them. GE will not give me my money back after they told they would. The ac unit was only 2 months old when it stopped working.
#Lowes #GE #Applainces
Email to GE, I DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GE APPLIANCE OR BUY ANY GE APPLIANCE FOR MY CUSTOMERS EVER AGAIN! YOU CAN SEND ME A NEW A/C UNIT AND I WILL SELL IT MY SELF. BUT BE AWARE I WILL BE POSTING THIS TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND LET THE WORLD KNOW YOU WILL NOT HONOR YOUR AGREEMENT. AND THAT LOWES WILL NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY ON ANY GE APPLIANCE!
I HOPE YOU HAVE A NOT SO GOOD DAY!
HAROLD
Hop sing needs to leave this alone. American made is the way 2 go!💥😡
I got beat out of $100 because Lowe’s was supposed to give me in a refund on installation charges but I could not get it.
Guy looks lkke Colonel Sanders
I buy from Lowe’s all the time and never have had any problems with returns. Sounds like you are a cry baby that didn’t follow procedures!
I had a similar problem with my 14 month computer from Staples. I did purchase the extended warranty. After talking with Dell they want me to mail back the computer. Ok. Then give me a “gift card” for Staples for the amount of the computer less California taxes 😡. I told them I didn’t want a gift card that forces me to spend my money at Staples. Staples just told me to call a number and everything would be fine. I finally pressed the associate at Dell and was told to hold on to the “ gift card “ for 30 days and I would then receive a check. Just mailed the computer back. It took 7-10 days to get the label. I had to provide box. There’s no customer service from Staples. I purchased $1000.00 worth of goods with this computer. Because my computer blew up I had no access to internet and had to wait for snail mail. When I am done with this project I will have spent many days for a warranty that steals my Sales tax and makes me jump through hoops for a refund for cash that this mystery insurance company provides to Staples and is almost useless.
Thank you for your video. It seems there is a huge difference in the customer service at your Lowes and mine in Woburn MA. Mine is great! I’ve been in sales for 4 decades and they continue to impress me. Mind, the overall quality of appliances has gone through the basement. But, several warranty claims have been processed and replacements installed in no time (1 day RMA, 1 day to drop off and pickup)
Its called re-purposing.
Does Florida have an Attorney general office you can complain to? I would also contact your local Better Business Bureau for assistance against both Lowes and GE. I’ve done same, and received much better help.
I learned this a few years ago. I will not buy appliances, small engine equipment like lawn tractors, snowblowers, chainsaw, or electric tools from Lowe’s or HD. The reason they can sell for less is the quality is not the same. Manufacturers substitute plastic parts where they would normally use steel, aluminum, etc. Plus, there is the warranty and service issue.
You need to start posting Kentucky fried chicken videos.
I will get satisfaction….. just not from Lowes.
Who would take something back after two months ? You should have bought the protection plan.
Might be too late to return your new unit to the store you bought from and have GE send the replacement?
Why did Lowe’s install a CEO hit an who is ruining the company? RIP
I’m here to say that I don’t think it matters in the least as to "where it was built". The basic issues around what we equate to quality (performance, durability) lies in the design of the components. All appliance makers need to design products that the public desires, while being able to market them at a profit. Most shoppers today are not like your grandfather. Gramps might still have scars from the depression where anything you owned HAD to last, because he didn’t have the money to buy a new one. That old fridge of his that is still chugging along in the garage is likely very basic in style and capacity, and likely only cost $300-$400 in todays dollars. Todays modern fridge selling price usually goes out the door for $1500 or more. I doubt Gramps would ever consider spending that kind of money on a fridge!
So how do appliance manufactures get seemingly savvy consumers to pony up 3 times what Gramps would pay? In marketing terms, fashion, convenience, and price are what sells, not durability. Let’s face it, who doesn’t want a crown jewel of a fridge highlighting their kitchen? How many 30-40 year old homeowners can accept a fridge as basic as the "Gramps" model saying to the world, "we haven’t arrived"? Convenience and price is where retailers like Lowes comes in. Large showrooms to display a very wide selection from basic to "sky is the limit". Special so-called "sale pricing", zero percent financing on your Lowes card, and of course, free delivery and haul-off. Bada-boom, bada-bing!
And of course to enhance the profit and make them more competitive, manufactures keep squeezing their parts suppliers to provide cheaper components that tend to fail sooner. They all put some kind of warrantee on their product, but as you can see when reading comments like those here, the warrantee is usually worth nothing when challenged. Sorry.
This is why manufacturers warrantees are increasingly being replaced by liberal limited time return policies like Amazon. In Amazon’s case, the shopper typically has 30-days to accept the item. After that, you are on your own. Seems to work pretty well for Amazon.
When it comes to appliances, I would recommend Costco or Sam’s. At least Costco gives you 90-days to return a major appliance w/o question.
By the way, can anyone name an "American-built" appliance these days, that gives the customer a quality, durable product? If there is one, how do they compete w/o resorting to the cost saving methods of their compitition?
Why give up? You paid good money for an item that should have lasted 10X longer. Call GE and go higher up. File a complaint with the BBC, If you used a debit or credit charge request the charges be reversed and explain the situation to the bank. File a complaint with your Attorney General. That’ll get their attention.
We dealt with the same thing on a Samsung Refrigerator that we bought from Lowes and we won’t be buying anymore Appliances from Lowes either. I would not recommend buying Appliances from Lowes.
Mr Jackson: we the people. We need to goto garage sales, and seek out new life, in older technology. Modern stuff, is all mostly designed, for a ‘one time’ use, and throw it out. Since the late 90’s this society is going to the dump. Get 20 yr old washers/dryers/ most anything. i got a free 30 yr old washer Maytag 2 speed heavy duty, with 11 push buttons, and the usual rotary timer/settings dial. It has an orbital transmission, under the drum on a large shaft mounted at the base. i repaired the water leaks, (new hoses and clamps) and this thing is working like a charm. unlike the modern HE front load junk washers, this has the ‘soak feature, 2 settings. so there, you ‘modern ‘ engineers…..we must look backwards to design ahead……the future is plastic/computer/throwaway …..disposable lives
Lowe’s policy has changed since Marvin has taken the reigns of the company. Its dollar for half dollar now
Good info. Sue them plus attorney costs and I’m sure your psychology damaged.
Same thing happened with Lowes & elecrtolux
Any problems that I’ve ever experienced at Lowe’s that wasn’t solved to my client’s satisfaction at the local level meant that I wrote what happened and made suggestions to fix problem for clients at the corporate level. They’ve always responded back and we worked out problems. I’ve had problems that was out of control of the store manager, but we figured out solution.
A manager at lowesTOLD me they are no longer customer friendly
I would have titled this DO NOT BUY GE Products!
I had all ne GE appliances when I built my house. The only GE product that hasn’t crapped out is the gas stove. That’s only because it can’t really die.
My GE microwave would just start whenever it wanted. I used to keep a bowl of water in it to keep it from burning out. I did some research and found out lots of them did this. GE says to unplug it for 24 hours to "reset" it. I tried it and it worked, For about a week.
My GE refrigerator would not stop making water (apparently that’s what ice is to them) I disconnected the water line and I still had water running through the freezer. I emptied it out and at the bottom of the freezer at the back there was a ziplock bag of walnuts. It was melted to the back of the freezer. Melted inside of a freezer. The back of the freezer was also brown from the heat. Then the freezer turned into warm storage. Their answer was "it’s probably best to buy a new unit". I did. A Samsung, and the microwave is also not a GE.
My GE clothes dryer just quit working. It was replaced with a Maytag.
OMG we never bought at Lows because they have high prices. We noticed that when we went to check out the store the first time we saw it. We even tried a second time and now we do not even try. Now, I am glad we never bought anything there.
I just came across your video and want thank you for the information. We have had similar problems with a Maytag refrigerator that has the ice and water dispenser on the door. Ice maker wouldn’t dispense ice without getting stopped up. Our problems were with the repairman that the warranty company contracted with. After 6 months of failed repairs they finally replaced the refrigerator.
It’s the same procedure at Home Depot.
They’re horrible to work for as well. I’m an overnight stocker and we do way more than what our job entails. All for the Lowe price of 10.60 hr. It’s pretty much a retard factory.
It’s great that you were able to reach nearly 42k people at the time I watched. Hopefully Lowe’s takes notice and changes their policy. Good job!
Buy the warranty no matter what the brand. I’ve seen them all crap ot
Chinese appliances for you. I’ve noticed they have been getting lighter and lighter. Thats not just thinner sheet metal on the outside. Thinner copper tubes means early leaks and to make it worse they use higher pressure refrigerants for that small efficiency boost. I always laugh when they put all that green bullshit speak on the boxes on how efficient it is our how committed they are to the environment when the appliances they make last a tenth as long as the old ones and are of such low quality that most of it can’t even be recycled. More and more just end up in a dump. Its disgusting, not only does the environment pay but so do you! Over and over. I have refrigerators that are nearly 50 years old and 100% fine. Not even a watt guzzler, a full size refrigerator that uses 255 KW a year, from the 70s! All we get is China garbage. Disposable crap designed to break and make you buy another and worst of all, you don’t have a choice because its all made in china!
I bought a new stove from Lowes a few weeks ago got it home plugged it in and had an issue with the oven. Still have had no response on whether or not we will be getting a new one from them. I’m up in Canada.
Your music is annoying and unnecessary. Get rid of it.
Lowe’s socks
They have hit an all time lowe
I work at Lowes. Our store policy is 30 days from purchase after that if you will contact the manufacturer they will either send out a repairman or give you a number to Give Lowe’s along with with the appliance you wish to return and Lowe’s will honor it. Unfortunately we have a high turnover on the front registers and they don’t always know the procedure. They have alot to learn in a short period of time.
Not sure why your video is “DONT BUY GE GARBAGE” Lowe’s has really nothing to do with your series of unfortunate events, every appliance retailer normally has a 30 day return period after that it’s on the manufacturer, Lowe’s did not make your faulty appliances, GE did.
Lowe’s seems to be synonymous with mafia liquor marts in New Jersey.
Customer at Lowe’s in Austell, Georgia.
It must be the Lowe’s stores that you’re shopping at because I’ve never had an appliance bought from Lowe’s have a problem in less than two years. Items purchased: upright freezer, refrigerator, washer & dryer. Also purchased lawn mowers, John Deere lawn tractor, utility shed, tools, ceiling fans, toilets, etc.
Colonel Sanders out here hating on lowes! Im gonna have to boycott KFC.
GE is crap made in China waste of money i rather pay more and get Bosch
Cut the cord and take serial number off?? Why in the heck would you do that?? Other than to void your warranty should have bought the same one and put the old one in the new box and taken it back
appliances and outdoor power equipment are 30 days back to store other merchandise 90days.
Return policy is posted at the front of the store and is on the back of most receipts.
Lowes will sale appliances and not curry replacement parts, water filter for refrigerator, 6 months old. I brought an expensive kitchen facet, no water directional insert, they sent me to plumbing stores, it was too new no replacement part yet. I brought a HVAC System signed contract for delivery and installation, after they disconnected the gas, I was changing from gas to electric the price went up over $800.00 dollars. no crawl space, no bend over. in the open space garage. I couldn’t get a clear explanation, they keep saying because, maybe the change from gas to electric. Well that’s what on the contract and you brought the electric unit with you. Well I have a lot of Lowes stories, they are convenient but not worth the hassles.
I have an old wall heater that came with my house built in 1978 and an old AC unit with it too (located in the basement). The wall heater is a Berko brand, and it was made from the 70’s (if not the 60’s), and it has worked like brand new for 40+ years, and still working like brand new. The old AC unit has never gave me trouble since bought in I believe in 1979, and yes it was well built back in these days. We bought the central air unit for the upstairs part of the house in, i believe 2009 or 2010, and it broke a few times. The downstairs unit gave me far less trouble than the new ones. Even my old water heater is still going strong as/is since 1978. I have two Montgomery wards dehumidifiers (one from 1978, and one from 1985) and they still work like brand new today. I bet the old appliances were made better and lasted longer than today’s appliances.
You’re right, nothing is made to last very long today, with all the computerized bells and whistles, and motherboards, which you are right, you will eventually need customer service after you bought a modern appliance, with or without rebate. You can’t think that HE appliances will last you forever, after you got so lucky to have 30+ years on your old appliances. If you have vintage appliances that still work, then there’s really no point upgrading to HE appliances. If you must encounter something wrong with any of your old appliances, just get it fixed.
Scratch and dent is junk too, since it may not work correctly or not even work at all, another thing to stay away from at Lowes, even refurbished ones are crap nowadays.
The best and last of the appliances built to last is Speed Queen or one from a secondhand store that sells vintage used appliances.
We also had an issue with an LG washer that would not spin at the highest spin speed, which eventually went away. On March 2020, we had an LG french door fridge with ice maker in 2009. The ice maker failed about two weeks ago. Once the fridge breaks, I will NEVER buy another LG appliance again or any brand sold fat a big box store, like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy or Sams. Instead, I will search online for a secondhand store that repairs and sells vintage major appliances and look for a vintage used fridge from preferably from the 70’s or the 80’s, and anything goes wrong with it, just having it fixed and will keep the vintage one working as long as I can.
We have two old Montgomery ward dehumidifiers, a 1978 Berko Wall heater in a basement bathroom, an old central air unit in my basement, and vintage wall heaters, and they all still work perfectly after all these years, along with a 1988 Delonghi Incredible Heat Machine heater that still works, along with old Lakewood and Galaxy fans, and old school vintage bell telephones that also give me no trouble at all. We also have an old vintage NuTune central cleaning system that still works perfectly, despite not being used all these years.
My cousin has a vintage Caloric wall oven from 1980s and still works perfectly. She also has a vintage GE electric range from the mid 80’s and still works perfect, even after all these years. She has an old vent fan, that also gives her no trouble today, alone with an old oil furnace that still works perfectly today too.
The whole point of customer service is to convince you that you do not ever want to contact customer service. They are tremendously good at their jobs.
Lowes Bl0ws
Ge is not the same Ge that grandma had. Lowe’s had to change their return policy because people abused it. They’d use stuff til it broke or they didn’t need it anymore and expect a refund. A case of the honest paying for the creeps.
Had you called Lowe’s corporate office you would have gotten a new air conditioner.
The problem is the manufacturer, they produced the junk. Lowe’s does not make appliances.
