When choosing a laptop for 3D Modeling you need to really consider the importance of purchasing a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. Having a dedicated GPU on a 3D Modeling laptop will give you the performance you need to smoothly design your 3D projects.

3D modeling laptops not only need to have a powerful GPU, but it is also important to consider the amount of RAM and power of the CPU. 3D modeling puts a lot of stress on the GPU, but the CPU is in charge of delivering the data to the GPU so it can perform its graphics intensive tasks.

I’ve been looking for the ASUS ROG Strix G17, but I can’t find the one described in the video. The link you have to amazon has 16GB DDR4 and 512GB SSD instead of the 32GB RAM and 2T SSD. Anyone have a link to the model described in the video?

  23. Morgan Troost on February 3, 2021 at 9:10 pm

Thankyou for this. By far the most helpful video ive watched in my search for a 3D modeling CAD laptop that is also has a professional look and build quality.

  24. SquiDragon on February 3, 2021 at 9:12 pm

These are better for gaming not working. Just 16gb ram and a gaming graphics card isn’t gonna cut it for Solidworks simulations.

At least the Quadro Blade 15 and Asus Proart were mentioned

  25. Gan Xin Rou on February 3, 2021 at 9:12 pm

Does the 4k display with refresh rate of 60hz affect the process of 3d modeling? If were to consider between conceptd 3 pro with conceptd 7 which will you go for?

    Hey Ben and hey everyone!
I have a question for anyone who coud answer it:
I’m considering buying the Asus Rog Strix G17. In his video Ben often compares this model equipped with an i7-10750H CPU (6 cores). Yet have you heard about the same model but equipped with an i7-10875H (8 cores)? If so, do you have any opinion on it? Do you think that the i7-10875H can make the Asus ROG G17
significantly more efficient in video editing? I mean is it worth it paying about 200$ more?

  29. Kile Asher on February 3, 2021 at 9:17 pm

    Hey! Y don’t you include ASUS TUF A15 !

At the time which is best for 3D modeling?

  33. Adam Smelt on February 3, 2021 at 9:25 pm

Currently been using the legion 5i for the past 7months. I’m a mechanical engineering student so have been using this for cad, gaming, and normal student stuff. It’s a great product and well worth the buy. But the AMD variant is a better choice than the Intel variant.

  34. Antonio Turco on February 3, 2021 at 9:26 pm

Should I buy Lenovo Legion 5 or HP Omen 15 2020 for 3D modeling?

  44. Rafl Arkitek on February 3, 2021 at 9:35 pm

Based on experience, i Have to disagree with 2 things.

    1. Touch screen is a no-no for 3d modelling. 1 touch and you can ruin your whole model, setup etc.

    2. Mac Book Pro? Duh. Its rubbish for 3d modelling purposes. Opening A regular 300MB model does not show clear lines and is very hard to navigate when you’re inside the model.
