  4. lmengel on October 30, 2021 at 11:14 am

I think the egg whisk was meant to scramble eggs after they were cracked into a hot cast iron skillet…not for whisking in a bowl.

  5. Moonyꕥ on October 30, 2021 at 11:15 am

my favourite old kitchen gadget is an 100 year old butter curler in our draw at home- used in hotels and restaraunts

  6. Dragon maid on October 30, 2021 at 11:15 am

With that egg whisk you might be better running it back and forth against the bottom of the bowl if that makes sense rather than whisking like you would with a fork.

I use another jar opener that is still working. It is from Sweden called Burki and it really works well (burk is jar in Swedish). It says it’s patented but I assume It was never exported. I have a vague memory that we got it in a giftset together with small jars of marmalade…. but I might be wrong.

I have had various others but this is the perfect one.

I only looked at the thumbnail before clicking on this video and by the title and thumbnail I was expecting the crazy Russian hacker guy then I got the lovely surprise of emmys beautiful voice

  10. ItsJustJessOkay on October 30, 2021 at 11:23 am

Emmy, I think the juice extractor might work better if you went in through the side and tore up the center membrane with the twisting motion more roughly to release more juice from those yummy little bits inside! I love u!

  11. Kathy B on October 30, 2021 at 11:25 am

Roll the Orange first b4 inserting Juicer. Lots of juice!

  12. Candy Chen on October 30, 2021 at 11:27 am

This episode was really cool and I’ll actually learned what a few things where I seen a lot of that stuff in my Grandma’s Kitchen

  13. Not A Robot on October 30, 2021 at 11:27 am

Everything was built to last back then.

  14. Roxie R. Heart on October 30, 2021 at 11:30 am

    I love the pie crimper

  15. Debby Wapner on October 30, 2021 at 11:30 am

So cool! And, she appreciates the design that went into each tool. Form follows function.

  16. Airina Ahmad on October 30, 2021 at 11:31 am

Somehow managed to guess it all wrong😂
I literally said potato masher, garlic thingy, egg cracker, can opener, the thing that holds veggies while u cut them and something to make holes on pies

  17. Miss Lioness on October 30, 2021 at 11:31 am

    “Albumen”

  18. Aliyah Pulido on October 30, 2021 at 11:32 am

Hi, Emmy! For big-lidded jars I find hard to open (the woes of a small-handed person!😑😫) I wrap a regular old rubber band around the lid until it won’t slide anywhere, and then I open the jar. Always does the trick! I heard you can also use rubber gloves to open jars, but since I don’t have any, I’ve never tried that.

  19. Nav Preet on October 30, 2021 at 11:32 am

    I thought the 3rd one is a nut cracker🙄

  20. Mischa on October 30, 2021 at 11:33 am

My grandmother also used the pie crimper not only to crimp, but to decorate. The opposite side of the crimper has a 5-pointed star for poking a vent in the centre, and the crimping wheel, pressed into the dough, makes a pretty design as well!

  21. Sokrit lun on October 30, 2021 at 11:33 am

You know what else will cut cheese like butter? A sharp knife .

  22. Jessica Klym on October 30, 2021 at 11:34 am

All of your finds “treasures” are amazing just be careful with the metals some are not good for us just like some plastics as well. Don’t mean to be a buzz kill by any means…just care.

  23. Baby on October 30, 2021 at 11:35 am

    Comment 2020🥳

  24. skiprani Rani on October 30, 2021 at 11:36 am

Those thing’s were so cool i got the can opener as its really good but updated version plastic handles 😜😜

  25. jeanette m on October 30, 2021 at 11:39 am

The cheese cutter is an angel food cake cutter

  26. Rev. 18:4 on October 30, 2021 at 11:39 am

Could use the cheese slicer to slice butter pats.

  27. Cindy Langdale on October 30, 2021 at 11:39 am

I found a French fry cutter in my mom’s appliance drawer, along with an egg holder (so that you can slice it), a tomato slicer and an apple corer/slicer. The one that we had trouble figuring out was this little blue thing that looks like a tiny Plunko game. Turned out that it was an individual cheese grater.

  28. Jess Woody on October 30, 2021 at 11:40 am

These videos calm my anxiety 🙏🏽 thank you Emmy

  29. ResetResto on October 30, 2021 at 11:40 am

Great video! I can vouch for vintage kitchen gadgets as I have restored a few vintage kitchen gadgets such as a 100-year-old vintage rotary cheese grater and boy does that thing work! I have also in one of my latest videos restored a vintage potato ricer and it produces the fluffiest mash ever!

  30. Diane 1970 on October 30, 2021 at 11:41 am

Most awesome vintage items ever a lot of these things work better than modern

  31. TessMarie on October 30, 2021 at 11:42 am

That last item isn’t a juicer…it is an apple corer…my mom had that exact one….

  32. jeanette m on October 30, 2021 at 11:44 am

I had the orange juicer and hadn’t a clue what it was. I wonder what happened to it. Have you got it? Lol

  33. Camille Poffinbarger on October 30, 2021 at 11:44 am

The first spoon with wire springs isn’t for beating eggs. It is for folding beaten egg whites into a cake batter without deflating the egg whites.

  34. Jessica Roxanne on October 30, 2021 at 11:44 am

She doesn’t know how to beat an egg properly lol

  35. moonbladem on October 30, 2021 at 11:46 am

I love these vintage gadget tests! Some of them, I have no idea what they’re for, until you tell us.

  36. Emily Kipp on October 30, 2021 at 11:47 am

    This is like asmr

  37. Bronson on October 30, 2021 at 11:52 am

What a cute video haha. Tiny kitchen gadgets like those always make me chuckle.

  38. Diann Nephew on October 30, 2021 at 11:53 am

FYI The citrus juicer…you’re supposed to roll the orange first so all the pulp is broken up, before you twist in the juicer. It’s not a squeeze as you go

  39. Old Photos on October 30, 2021 at 11:54 am

    This is awesome, thanks Emmy!

  40. Bonne Burton on October 30, 2021 at 11:55 am

Wow, I remember my grandma had that egg whisk tool. I never knew what it was used for in the kitchen. Thanks for enlightening me.

  41. linn htet on October 30, 2021 at 11:56 am

Vintage items are more environmental friendly!

  42. Heysauce Mikehere on October 30, 2021 at 11:59 am

For jars I can’t open, I was always taught to smack the edges of the lid with the back of a butter knife, it has never ever failed me to this day!

  43. Maria Prado on October 30, 2021 at 12:01 pm

I remember my aunt using a whisk like that to whisk egg whites for merengue,

  44. Betty Schneider on October 30, 2021 at 12:02 pm

Ya I have my mother jar opener!🍶🔧 the one I have looks almost like yours but it can open wider or smaller! 😃

  45. usernamunavailiable on October 30, 2021 at 12:02 pm

Never knew you could use an A2 flash hider to juice an orange.

  46. Bl on October 30, 2021 at 12:02 pm

Before gadgets actually had a purpose
Now companies that produce eye candy products (products that look cute and adorable but work horribly) like Joseph and Joseph and chef’n have taken over.

  47. Zeus & Athena on October 30, 2021 at 12:06 pm

I like these old tool videos. When I was growing up we went to my great grandparents cabin. They has most of these tools. I wish I did now.

  48. steve outdoors uk on October 30, 2021 at 12:09 pm

I was walking past a bakery one morning and the baker was using his false teeth to crimp the pie crust.
I called out hey, haven’t you got a special tool for that sort of thing? He replied yes, but I use that for the bagels 🥯

  49. TheLepke2011 on October 30, 2021 at 12:10 pm

You want to know why you’ve never seen that egg whisk, Emmy? Because it didn’t work and never caught on!
