VIDEO REVIEW: Sub-Zero BI-48SID/S/TH – 48" Built-In Refrigerator

Sub Zero has been manufacturing this flagship built-in refrigerator in one form or another for over 40 years. It’s design is near bullet-proof. We are one of the oldest and largest Sub-Zero dealers in South Florida, visit our web-store today: https://bit.ly/2MvReGV

It is, in fact, the only refrigerator on the market that actually is TESTED at the factory to withstand a minimum of 20 years of use. Here is our in-depth review of this oven.

Our first sub-zero lasted 29 years.  It’s worth the investment.

i dont think anyone spending 12k on a fridge cares about the reduced energy costs. lol. This is just a status symbol.

We bought a sub-zero from Mountain High Appliance. A brand new built in 42" Sub-zero. Only 32 days old, dispensing water by itself. It turns on by itself and continues to dispense water non-stop. Lucky, we were at home to stop it, otherwise our home will be flooded. See it by yourself. Type in the search:

Four years ago I redid our kitchen and bought a new double wide expensive built-in sub zero. I was told it was the best. Wrong…. It has broken down four times in four years. Only the first service call was covered by warranty. My unit is unbelievably noisy. I called the manufacturer and the service gal gave me the name and number of the only local recommend service company. They came out. Very expensive. And, did nothing. They said that level of noise was normal. I am going through YouTube right now looking to find a new, quieter, replacement unit. One of the service guys I used (not the one recommended by SubZero) told me that the old units were much better than the new ones. This one you can hear from one end of the house to the other. And, it is going to the dump…….

I bought a sub-zero 42 inch with integrated water and ice dispenser. Only 32 days old, the water dispenser turned on by itself, like a ghost was inside, serving water non stop and flooding the house. Buyer be aware!. There is a risk to flood your home because the water dispenser is unreliable and turns on by itself and starts poring water in your floor. I want the one that comes with the meat and cheese ageing feature. I want to be able to age my meat and my cheese over time. I think that’s the frigerator that removes the oxygen from different compartments within the refrigerator itself plus wine storage.

Good content! Just a bummer the sound the cam makes when manipulated, a bit annoying actually!

We spent nearly $35,000 on Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances (not from this authorized dealership tho). First, the built-in coffee maker never got to a hot temperature. Called customer service numerous times within the first month of being installed and they sent out someone to work on it but they never could get it any hotter so we don’t use it since it makes luke warm coffee. Sub-zero/Wolf gave us an extended warrenty on our refrigerator because of the issue for the coffee maker??? Second, built in double oven has never been at the precise temp so we have always had to guess and bake longer and one of the lights burned out within the first 5 months of use. Third, the gas cooktop knobs do not stay in position. They will slightly turn/float so you can’t get at a precise temperature. For example, if you want it on med heat and place the knobs to the middle it will eventually float to simmer. This happens to two of the knobs and started since first purchased. And last, refrigerator alarm kept sounding so I called customer service and the rep was rude and augmentative. That was the last straw and therefor this review. If you think these are top of the line appliances without issues you will be disappointed. I would skip buying because they are overpriced and definently not worth it!!

modern appliances are owned by just 5 companies and are junk expect few brands like sub-zero. I hope i can afford one and forget about repairs.

Can someone inform me? Should the electric power consumption of these refrigerators be high? In relation to common and normal refrigerators.

That air filter does not turn the air into “pure oxygen”
    🤦‍♂️

12k on a fridge, a sucker is born every day I guess. Every idiot claiming how they’ve lasted 20 years is the dumbest point. Pretty much any fridge lasts that long, except they cost 1/20th the price.

When did these refrigerators come out? Do you expect Sub Zero to come out with a new model anytime soon?
