I am a high school student who is looking to run programming software and Fusion 360. I prefer a Dell laptop and have around $1.2K to spend. Which one would you recommend?

I have an earlier XPS 13 from a couple of years ago in the arctic white. I also have a G5 and a new XPS 17. The G6 has 2060 in it and the XPS17 has 1650. Each of these machines was expensive but I compromised on each to get a balanced configuration. with the XPS 13 I went with an i5 processor, the G5 was the 2060 graphics, and the XPS 17 selecting 1650 instead of a higher graphics card. The other thing is to watch dells web site, they have a continuing volley of sales. Also if you chat up the online salespeople you can often get a 3-year onsite warranty at no extra cost if you are pricing a higher-end model. Seeking these opportunities can give you 15 to 30% savings off the full list price. Since Dell is in perpetual sales mode I don’t really base my decision on the artificial savings that they are suggesting. One issue with the G6 is it has some power issues around residual power and having things like phones charge off of it in sleep mode leading to overheating on restart. I solved it by connecting the charging item to my USB ports on the monitor’s USB ports.
