i bought a focusrite solo from sweetwater . Now Im 61 and it was a huge experience for me and I struggled to get it even working but I have make tons of songs with it using Ableton lite . Now here is the problem and sweetwater i couldnt get through to the customer service after 3tries I quit. Anyway I will be all hooked up with my guitar tracking and then in the middle of nowhere it just dies on me it makes a loud sreech and comes to a halt . I unplugg it from my PC plug it back in reconnect and it starts working again until 5-10 mins and does it again ? I have no clue is the interface defective? If you can give me any advice I will be so happy !

    Go for evo 4 ……πŸ˜‹

  16. Ray Anderson on April 1, 2021 at 1:45 am

My favourite interface is the Steinberg urc22. I bought that few months ago and love it due to the on board effects

  17. Steven Benson on April 1, 2021 at 1:47 am

Behringer XR18. Recorded double CD project with live drums, choir, etc. Have had it over 2 years, no problems.

  18. matpooh Applepie on April 1, 2021 at 1:47 am

I have a m audio fast track ultra I’ve had for years the first channel is producing horrible static after plugging a XLR in then removing the XLR it’s still there I can’t get rid so I’m buying a new interface

  19. Our Backwoods Homestead on April 1, 2021 at 1:47 am

I’m still using my 2 Focusrite Pro 40 interface works perfect with my Octapre 8.
It’s firewire but rock solid for years , plan on upgrading at some point to Thunderbolt.

  20. Nomadic Productions on April 1, 2021 at 1:48 am

Great list!!! I’ve been using a Focusrite Clarett 8Pre and it’s amazing! I recently purchased a UAD Apollo twin X and have switched to using it as my main interface and my Clarett as the mixer via ADAT. What a wonderful combo!

  21. Raja on April 1, 2021 at 1:50 am

March, 2021. Hope you are well, too! I thought I had heard mention of a fire in your neighborhood on your channel, hope no damage. Anyhow, the Ides of March πŸ™‚ blew the idea of the new AUDIENT EVO 8 into my ears! Here in the USA, it is $200 and has FOUR Combo input jacks! No other USB interfaces out there with 4 Combo inputs for $200! But before I jump in and get one, my question is this: if I take the audio from the headphone jack from a cellphone or tablet, connect to a split 1/4" cable/jacks, and plug into two Combo inputs of a USB interface, will I get a good signal? I tried that with the Line Level inputs of a MOTU M4, and that DID NOT work. I learned that Line Level inputs cannot accept the signals from a cell phone or tablet! I just tried this with my Mackie ProFX6V3 mixer, though, and got a great signal, in fact whether the Hi-Z buttons were pushed in or not! (I’m guessing that the output of a cellphone is far higher than that of say an electric guitar) In fact, the signal was so much higher than from a dynamic microphone.

    FaltΓ³ AudioFuse – ArturiaπŸ€”

  23. Lee Ramos on April 1, 2021 at 1:55 am

Funny how Arturia’s offerings are not mentioned.

  24. RIALAS on April 1, 2021 at 1:56 am

RME ufxii working perfectly with new m1 Mac mini.

  25. Baronswood Sound Studio on April 1, 2021 at 1:56 am

Glad to see mine came in at #2, the 18i20 has a clean sound, 8 inputs and is simple to use. Great to the point video!

  26. Derek Lauder on April 1, 2021 at 1:59 am

Been using a Behringer XR18. For the last couple of years 16 XLR combos and a stereo Line in decent pre amps and great value for money. And loads of routing options. Also use it as a stage box for live gigs.

  27. orry Fishburne on April 1, 2021 at 1:59 am

I really want the Presonus Studio 192, but how does it compare to the 1824C? Is it that much of a different in sound quality? My big reason for wanting the Studio 192 is its ability to switch on and off phantom power for each channel rather than all on or all off in comparison to the 1824C. The fat channel processing is another plus even tho i dont think i will take full advantage of that. And as for USB 3 or USB 2 protocol, everywhere i read about it, they all say theres not much of a difference for audio and latency. Im running Studio One 5 Professional on a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop with a AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor so anything Thunderbolt is out of the equation. Also the 500 dollar price tag in comparison to 800 bucks is much more convenient for me, especially since my current interface just died on me and i could either order the 1824c in a couple of days and get back to working on music asap or wait another week-2 weeks before being able to afford the Studio 192. Even tho i want to be able to record ASAP, i would rather be patient and make the right choice. And after having 3 Focusrite Scarlett interfaces throughout the years either die or malfunction within a 3 year period after owning them, i will never buy another Scarlett line. Should i wait for the Studio 192 or get a 1824c? I should also note that i currently dont have any mics that could be damaged by phantom power but i do want to get some ribbon mics in the future, so at the moment, phantom power being either all on or all off on the 1824c wont be problematic, but for future endeavors it will be, unless i bought something like the cloudlifter to take that power load before the mic

  28. RADER FPV on April 1, 2021 at 1:59 am

I chose the MOTU M4 as my first interface, it shows up in a few days. Based on all of the research I’ve been doing on budget interfaces, I think it’s going to work out well, super exited to get it!

  29. gnmorales1 on April 1, 2021 at 2:00 am

this list is very erratic and doesnt make sense (in the order it was placed in) what is the reasoning behind this someone PLEASE let me know

  30. Mabawa Vocal on April 1, 2021 at 2:01 am

NATIVE INSTRUMENT SOUNDCARD HAS THE LOWEST NOISE INPUT FOLLOWED CLOSSELLY BY BERHINGER THEN SCARLET,ALL OTHER SOUNDCARD ONLY HAVE GREAT LOOKS,AS FOR ME I COULD AFFORD UPHORIA BERHINGER ITS SOUND CLARITY IS GREAT

  31. nemanja bajkic on April 1, 2021 at 2:02 am

in my opinion the best audio interface is Antelope Audio Discrete 4 Synergy Core Thunderbolt is literally good for sound, if you make matrices and not to mention, I personally use this interface is brutally good believe me and you have reviews on youtube here you have a link to amazon
    https://amzn.to/3ryytqw

  32. Albert Erzmagier on April 1, 2021 at 2:05 am

i don t like this review. You told randomly about different interfaces.
Top interfaces in what, sound quality or inputs?
You never mentioned the Babyface btw.

  33. Nick C on April 1, 2021 at 2:08 am

I’ve been a Motu user for years and had a 828mk2 for about 15 years (seriously the thing refused to die lol) and just recently upgraded to the new(ish) Motu 828ES which is fantastic and hopefully i’ll get 10+ years out of this one too haha…

  34. Mabawa Vocal on April 1, 2021 at 2:10 am

TRUST ME GUYS,BEING A PRODUCER FOR 5 YEARS BERHINGER HAS ALWAYS BEATEN SCARLET IN CLARITY,ALL THESE INTERFACES SHOWN HERE CANT EVEN BEAT NATIVE INSTRUMENT SOUNDCARD,ITS ONE OF THE SMALLEST BUT THE BEST IN LOW NOISE AND BERHINGER IS MWAAA IN SOUND RECORDING CLARITY AND LOW NOISE

  35. TooHotToHandleTooCoolToMelt on April 1, 2021 at 2:13 am

Very informative. I learned a lot before making a purchase.

  36. Minimalici0us on April 1, 2021 at 2:13 am

No MOTU M2 ?? That’s one of the best out there

  37. Crazy Monarch on April 1, 2021 at 2:14 am

I have the focusrite 2i2 3rd gen and I get lots of noise when my Mac laptop is plugged into power. Can only get a clean sound when it’s unplugged/running on battery. Something to consider. Also in my experience the sound is slightly altered when passing through this device – to my ears it dulls the sound. (Weak sauce preamps imo) For example, if I play my guitar thru an amp and route that to my 2i2 it doesn’t sound nearly as bright. I’ve tested it with several audio sources and all the input types (xlr, 1/4, balanced, unbalanced). I’ve also listened directly to the audio output with headphones to know what the sound should sound like going into the 2i2*

So would I recommend this – no – I need to capture the exact sound coming through the input and this dullness doesn’t cut it for my standards.

  38. Gil Orms on April 1, 2021 at 2:18 am

I want to know if they can record direct from the Internet. . . the Presonus I bought can’t, unlike every other lousy soundcard I bought over the last 25 years.

  39. Penny Wiser on April 1, 2021 at 2:19 am

Which is good for stereo piano straight into an iphone camera?

  40. Jeff Bridges on April 1, 2021 at 2:20 am

Presonus 1824c. I use 2 via ADAT. Great sound quality and easy to use.

  41. MohantyJams on April 1, 2021 at 2:20 am

    Where is SSL?

  42. Mavetick on April 1, 2021 at 2:22 am

I’ve just purchased a boss br800 and seem to be having some problems with it as a controller. Does anyone here us this as an interface and how is it for you?

  43. Paulo Terenzi on April 1, 2021 at 2:23 am

    I have a MOTU M2

  44. Donnie Hill on April 1, 2021 at 2:25 am

Awesome Mike, I to have been using the Studio 192 paired with a Presonus DP88. I mix in and out of the Box using two Mini Shorty Patchbays. With other pieces of Hardware for mixing and recording. They are a true work horse. Thank you for your Channel.

  45. ELPLAK on April 1, 2021 at 2:27 am

I tried many, I liked Motu 16A above all.

  46. JΞ”Y on April 1, 2021 at 2:27 am

I use the Focusrite Clarett 8pre, love that thing to the core. Did the upgrade after using the Focusrite Saffire Pro40.. but since the firewire interface was discontinued and thus expensions were no longer available (new that is), I needed to get rid of it and switched to the Clarett. Right from the get go, the Clarett sounds way bigger, such a warm, rich and transparent sound it has, where the Saffire Pro40 sounded almost flat like a wet cardboard box. But, one day I’d probably upgrade to an Antelope Goliath III, which has the perfect out of the box sound for me. Good video, great job!

  47. John Aiello on April 1, 2021 at 2:28 am

USB is not the answer when it comes to MIDI. You need the Original MIDI if you don’t want interference with your signal. These companies that omit MIDI are not doing you any favors.

  48. Din on April 1, 2021 at 2:28 am

I have Focusrite 2i2 3d gen. Its the best thing that I have ever bought for 150$. Be sure,it works simply and reliably.

  49. ssyne on April 1, 2021 at 2:29 am

prism lyra, the quality is worth it, these reviews are fine for boring voice work
