Buy a decent desktop pc made in last decade hahaha can be a older i7 as long as it’s haswell or newer you good, then add a gtx 1060 6gb or Rx 580 8gb or better ( last year they were $120 everyday, but with mining all gpus are in demand ) if you want a great VR experience for cheap windows mixed reality headsets are actually amazing of course a index is better but it’s not so muchbetter that yocan’t enjoy the experience with a wmr headset I have put together 4 setups for my kids and there nephews
As far as computer being good like I said above if you have a haswell 2012? Or newer intel 4 core you will be fine the difference in the newest and them is really gonna be minimal in vr gaming it’s all the gpu that make a quality of life improvement on having one of the older pc’s will be add a SSD hardrive as your main boot drive and install steam on it and you will have a great experience. Of course if money isn’t a issue order a valve index and a pre built pc with a Rtx 3080 that’s what. I

Making a new pc build for 2020-2021, I’m upgrading from a i7 3770 and gtx 680. I plan on getting a ryzen 5600x and 3060Ti/3070 for 1080p gaming and using my Quest 1 via oculus link to play VR games. Wondering what would be the better price to performance, knowing that there’s a $150-$200 price gap between the two graphics card what would the better card be?

Actually I’d buy the CPU to power the graphics card you want first this thinking is kinda backwards.

VR rig that I’m hoping to build after the new year :

    Ryzen 9 5900X
    Radeon 6900 XT
    Trident Z Royal 4000 128 GB (16×4)
    An X570 board
    3x 2 TB WD Black NVME 4.0
    1000 W 80+ Platinum PSU
And not sure either a custom watercooling system or an AIO cooler

HP Reverb G2 with knuckles and 4x lighthouses

    Any suggestions? Lol.
