Samsung Q90 4K QLED TV vs. LG C9 OLED TV

Samsung Q90 4K QLED TV vs. LG C9 OLED TV

See the 2020 OLED vs QLED shootout here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWhtaISNMqk

What a difference one letter makes. The terms OLED and QLED may look very similar but are two entirely different beasts. In our QLED vs. OLED battle, we compare Samsung’s best 4K LED TV for 2019, the Q90, with LG’s C9 OLED.

LG’s 2019 OLED TVs now offer A.I. ThinQ, which is powered by the Alpha 9 Gen 2 processor and add Amazon Alexa support. The C9 OLED TVs will start rolling out in April.

Samsung’s Q90 QLED for 2019 is the best 4K TV Samsung has ever made, packed with smart user-friendly features to make installation and use easy.

Samsung’s QLED line of TVs is a series coined by the company that means “quantum light emitting diode”. The branding is an attempt to distinguish this TV as Samsung’s most premium television and has the capacity to produce an image that’s brighter than an OLED TV.

With LG’s OLED TV, the image is produced by starting with perfect black. With true blacks being produced, it’s hard to beat the OLED in terms of picture quality. The color is spot on straight out of the box, and its motion is smoother than the QLED.

    "Planet" he says!
Have you been eating yellow snow?

    Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Not a sphere (כדור in Hebrew) but a circle (מעגל in Hebrew)!

I think the samsung had a much greener tint actually. The oled is so beautiful. Nice review, thanks.

The QLED should be great without backlight, and with DOLBY VISION support.

In fact, this in the description of all OLED TV.

Over the last few years I have never used voice control on my lg tv once. but lg loves to listen to me, recommending me products and selling my private information to the CCP.

When I see these both in person, the Samsung looks better. But every review says LG

  19. Nayan Bhargava on February 2, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Samsung is the biggest manufacturer of displays OLED or QLED but if the choosing not to make OLED it’s because OLED suck ass and lg sponsors all these youtubers for eg the Jerry rig tv comparison don’t buy the OLED

  20. Ray L on February 2, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Man it’s hard to watch this because of Stranger Things playing in the background. The producers of Stranger Things thought it was a good idea to take a bunch of really bad actors and add to them dubious writing and unimpressive special affects and then punish us all with excessively heavy marketing campaigns. I don’t know how anyone can stomach it.

  21. Big Chole on February 2, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Pretty bad at what you do

  22. Randy on February 2, 2021 at 9:33 pm

Hell yes, re-upload! Sort of. Scrub to 8:20 and watch. Still have questions? I’ll be around to answer them here in the comments. Give me a while, though, because I am about to take off for the day and may not be back on until tomorrow AM.

Had Samsung’s that lasted for years and finally bought an lg oled55c7p and it looked extremely good at first but now there’s so many issues with the display. After about 2 years of use, there’s a seam right down the middle of the screen and one half is slightly different than the other, the pixels in the dead center of the screen are all slightly brighter than the rest of the screen, and I noticed some vertical lines and patchy colors when the screen is showing a bright scene like the sky. So it did look better while it lasted but reliability seems to be complete shit compared to Samsung

  33. Gary golfer on February 2, 2021 at 9:44 pm

It would nice to cover price difference

  34. Inderpal Arora on February 2, 2021 at 9:45 pm

Confused which TV to buy, I wish OLED had more brightness then it would be perfect and the fact it won’t leave any burn in.

  35. Ali Smith on February 2, 2021 at 9:46 pm

I could tell the OLED was better before they even got to the picture quality.

  36. Andre Marshall on February 2, 2021 at 9:49 pm

No I hate the voice assistant on tv, never use it

  37. SWAPNIL BAHADURE on February 2, 2021 at 9:49 pm

I want to purchase a TV of 65inch but having doubt on what to buy ??

    Oled king baby

  39. ABHS on February 2, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Tv reviews are getting more confusing . If I buy tv , I want good pictures , good colors to watch ..tv are pictures . Ful stop. I don’t one bezel is slightly thicker than the other as long it is doesn’t look like old tube tv . I don’t care one is thicker than the other as long as it can be wall mounted .

It is about beautiful pictures , pleasing my eyes .

  40. Andro goshal on February 2, 2021 at 9:53 pm

I love Samsung tvs but i had issue with my Samsung tv , alot of purple and black patches appeared on the screen

And now iam interested in sony or LG tv for ps5
And i found what i wanted which is ( Sony X900h ) but i will slow down my horse and keep searching maybe i will found something better

  41. Tezoo Alexander on February 2, 2021 at 9:55 pm

What’s the desk brand of samsung TV one?Is it IKEA Bekant?

  42. Sakhawat Rahman on February 2, 2021 at 9:59 pm

QLED – Better for bright rooms and also gaming (gaming might cause burn in), and better for people on a budget.
OLED – Better for people who have more money to spend and better picture quality. Also 120Hz.

  43. PGI Cruiser on February 2, 2021 at 10:00 pm

@10:45 you discuss the green tint of the LG. To me, the LG has a bluish cast, whereas the Samsung has a greenish cast.

  44. Ertan Özan on February 2, 2021 at 10:01 pm

Lg is the winner of this comparaison, i think.. brightness does not make Samsung better. Details will prove the winner.

  45. Oduduwa Republic on February 2, 2021 at 10:02 pm

I thought OLED picture is more natural than QLED. though I’m a sucker for Samsung.

  46. Orange Blue on February 2, 2021 at 10:02 pm

Who cares about "gaming" .. which is best for a FOOTBALL Game???

Even through a youtube video viewed on my 2012 tv I can clearly see the LG is shitting all over the sammy the same as it does in person.

  50. PoppinCain on February 2, 2021 at 10:08 pm

How does the Q90R stack up to the 2020 TVs? I just bought an open box 82" but they didn’t have a display model up anymore for me to see.
