Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Review: A New Affordable Samsung Tablet

So Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A7 2020 is an all new affordable tablet that has a lot going for it (in addition to a few downsides) coming in at around $230. In this video we are going to be reviewing and covering every aspect of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A7 and I’ll be sharing my experiences I’ve had with the device after 2 weeks of usage. We will also be looking at a handful of accessories to go alongside the Tab A7 like the Book Cover case and more. We will also be comparing this tablet to some of Samsung’s other budget tablets like the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and Galaxy Tab A 10.1” (2019). Thanks for watching!

Will this tablet pick up PEN PRESSURE SENSITIVITY??? if I wanted to use it for a drawing? Or should I just invest that little extra more for the Lite S Pen version?

I’ve been looking at this for some time now. I’ll mainly be using it for reading books, can anyone recommend it for that? I don’t wanna spend money on a Kindle, and as an Apple user I’ve been missing some Android in my life 😀

  22. evelyn woolston on April 20, 2021 at 3:08 am

I’m returning the one I bought 2 days ago. It took 6 hours to charge switched off from 50% out of the box. The battery life is only average so t will spend more time charging than using. My tab A 10.1" in full use takes 3 hours to fully charge from empty (it was faster when new). The screen is more reflective than the Tab A so it can’t be seen if the room is sunny. It can only be viewed when completely full on. The large Microsd card won’t help because most software won’t transfer to the card and even if it does, next time you look it has transferred back. The card is only good for photos and pics. 10GB on the hard drive are taken up by system files. For covers, I use the rotating covers by Mobile Stuff from Amazon £8

  23. Mike Martin on April 20, 2021 at 3:10 am

Thanks for a thorough review. Question-what is the cover you have on the tablet, as I’m looking for a neat but simple cover-Thanks

I hope some can answer this question…. I’d like to ditch my cell phone and use a 7 or 8" tablet as my phone. Is there a tablet or this one that can take a SIM card that’s capable of doing that ? I’m not talking about piggy backing but a tablet as a stand alone phone.

  28. Ekaterina Prigaro on April 20, 2021 at 3:16 am

Just bought this tablet for my mother’s birthday. Thank you for validating my choice :’)

  29. Aj Talab on April 20, 2021 at 3:17 am

Can this be used as a monitor like the s7 tablet ?

  30. Russell Regulator on April 20, 2021 at 3:17 am

That’s not a good selling point for the facial recognition. Try using a photograph? If doesn’t unlock with photograph but still works “amazing” on real face…. that’s a good selling point.

  31. Mahum Laisak on April 20, 2021 at 3:17 am

    does it have bluetooth?

  32. Stephen Brasure on April 20, 2021 at 3:20 am

Thanks for a very comprehensive review with a realistic approach when it comes to the performance of the tablet considering it’s price. I just ordered it from Costco.com (I’m a member) and I ordered the 64gb model with a 64gb micro SD card included. Price with shipping and OH tax was $232.70……so after I get it, I’ll see what I think and post another comment. The Costco deal was $50 off their normal price and the last day for that price was yesterday!

I use one of these for work. I didn’t buy it they supplied it to me. I wouldn’t spend my own money on one as there are quite a few annoyances with it.

The screen although when playing videos is perfectly usable it’s not amoled and alot of text looks a bit pixelated compared to say the S7 or an iPad.

It takes ages to charge as there’s no fast charge support for this. This is a massive negative for me as I’m used to 65 watt charging.

Multitasking is a bit clonky could do with more RAM and the 32gb internal memory is a bit low especially as the OS and other bits take up about a third of it out the box.

Build quality is ok. Looks ok. Camera on the back is abysmal but who uses a tablet to take photos anyway?

I’d say this would be perfect for kids or if you just use a tablet to do some social networking and video streaming go for it but then your phone would probably do a better job anyway.

I JUST BOUGHT the Samsung Galaxy Tab SA7 10.4 and I love it. I’m in the process of trying to get a good case For it and keyboard. I didn’t know you could Bluetooth a game controller to it to play your games. This video is grate and thanks for the info. I just subscribed to your channel and turned on the notification bell.

Very precise review sir! Glad to see this one!

  41. Andreas on April 20, 2021 at 3:30 am

    Can I work with a little cheaper controller with cable like you show on the video or it fit with only that controller;

  42. Dave Pavillar on April 20, 2021 at 3:33 am

Thank you for this review. I am planning to buy a Samsung Tablet and I am deciding between Tab S7 and this. I am looking after the display and the audio because I love watching videos. I was leaning towards S7 because I know they have the best display and the AKG quad speaker. But after seeing this review. That display, and the quad speaker, not to mention it’s budget friendly, looks like I will choose this.

  48. Kappakappa duk on April 20, 2021 at 3:39 am

The A7 is actually a pretty decent tablet. It can play games that my older phone can’t even install. I mainly got it for online doctors appointments and gaming.

  50. Carsten Junge on April 20, 2021 at 3:40 am

I just ordered one; it is supposed to come with a 15 W charger, not the 7.5 you have.
