I have had success with 20 Mule Team Borax on my stainless pots. I dissolve 3 tablespoons of Borax in very hot water in the bottom of pots that have baked / burnt crusty food inside. I let it soak until the water is completely cool and it rinses off everything with just a soft sponge. No iron sponge or brillo pads to scratch the surface. Of course, gloves are recommended as it’s just as harsh or your skin as it is on the burnt food particles.

Hi Flo, this is for Princess Kemi Nike if you can get this across to her. I don’t mind if you can be of help also. I used Tramonita kitchen knife for years, so love it. Do you know how I can get the stainless set of pots or cookware? I made google search but did not get something satisfying. Maybe I did not do enough. I will appreciate your response if you can. Bless you.

Pls I have some questions, I bought some stainless pots, cleaned and oiled it like you showed, and after using it like twice, the inside became dull and not as shiny as when I bought it, also I read online that some foods can cause nickel leaching into the food, when you cook with stainless steel pots. Pls throw more light on it. Thank you.

Hi Flo, thanks for all you do at all nigerianrecipes. I have really learnt a whole lot. In the pots video, I didn’t hear about pressure pots. Do you use them? If yes, pls which ones do you reccomend?

  34. Odunayo Olufunmilayo on March 20, 2021 at 2:42 am

One MOST IMPORTANT THING, You Missed Out, Is Cooking Spoons. DURABLE PLASTIC AND WOODEN SPOONS ARE THE BEST TO USE WITH PURE STAINLESS STEEL POTS.

There Will Be No Scratching Or Scouring Of The Base, Therefore No Burnings. Thanks.

  35. Olaniyan Simi on March 20, 2021 at 2:42 am

Fantastic. I had no idea about leaving a brunt pot in the stove for a little bit. I would usually soak and use iron sponge/ chai palm face. so this is a great tip for me…
