At 30 y/o and as a for honor player, where you need to react to situations within milliseconds. I can definitely confirm that aging affects your reaction speed. Its one of the reasons i wanted/feared to confirm on any videos… πŸ™
For me personally, even thou i’m an avid gamer playing whenever I have time for it, i started to notice this decline in reaction speed at 28 y/o.

    – Left crying because it’s been so long since I’ve heard TotalBiscuit’s voice.

This video is stupid. Older people have real lives, jobs, worries, bills to pay, children, partners, responsibilities … Teenagers have time to kill with video games, end of story. It’s obvious, you’re an idiot!

People tend to stick to their careers, and older people may believe gaming is something less than a real job. This could be evinced through the fact that competitive gaming as gainful employ did not exist four decades ago, when the adult gamers of today were more mouldable children still choosing their future careers.

As a veteran Starcraft 2 fan and looking in 2020 at this video realizing that both TotalBiscuit and iNcontrol passed away makes me sad πŸ™

  17. Mr.Sandman on March 29, 2021 at 12:30 am

I am 19 now. From 10 to 16 years I played so much and everything was fun. But then suddenly every game lost itβ€˜s Charme. Yeah, I get excited when I buy a new game but itβ€˜s not the same anymore. For me the only fun experience now is going back to Minecraft with some broβ€˜s and get massive nostalgia, or playing Fifa with my friends on the couch. I hope I will have more fun on games in the future again.

My brain is too old for this trash.

  19. Shiro on March 29, 2021 at 12:31 am

There’s no advantage at being old on these games, these games didn’t exist when older people were growing up, every one has the same experience regardless of age, and older people are likely to have less experience on the game due to being busy with other things. It’s just not a mental issue.

  20. Mali Buda on March 29, 2021 at 12:32 am

i am playing WoW Classic and interesting thing about it is that 15 years ago average players were much much better at the game that just came out then players today that have info and experience of older players of what to do and how to do it…yet…seems average skill has devolved in past 15 years…or is it a fault of a gaming industry and games today that are designed for simple, easy fast rewarding gaming..?

  21. DOM on March 29, 2021 at 12:36 am

Growing up, maturity and adulting are just few of the real reasons behind why I don’t enjoy video games anymore. It’s how games are made now compared before, now it is just more competitive instead of enjoyment and some are developed for milking people out of their money.

  22. NAccHands on March 29, 2021 at 12:41 am

  28. Lora Coggins on March 29, 2021 at 12:45 am

2 things that are very innacurate about gaming competitions in the year 2020:
    1. That people don’t get together, or at least don’t socially distance.
    2. That the prizes are up to $50,000.

  29. The Gay Expat on March 29, 2021 at 12:47 am

Interestingly enough things like elite gamers aren’t an indicator of success. Turns out you don’t even need to be that intelligent to be successful. You just need to have mental discipline i.e grit.

  30. Sebastian on March 29, 2021 at 12:48 am

I’m 4 years old and I’m playing now more than ever, since I’m a youngin’, I have all the time in the world. My favorite game to play is Overwatch and I’m sniping scrubs on Widowmaker in competitive matchmaking all day.

  31. Jude Law on March 29, 2021 at 12:51 am

0:24 that’s a boy in the green shorts by the way. That’s how short boys shorts were in the 80’s despite people saying they were never that short, or that only NBA players wore them that short. Nope, we all wore shorts that short as boys in the 80’s.

The concert pianist is a very poor analogy, because that is rote memorization. He’s playing a piece that he’s practiced over and over and over, and the "keystrokes" never change.

  38. Aphro Latin X on March 29, 2021 at 12:55 am

so young people who live with their parents and don’t have families to take care of have more time to practice ie get good at gaming? That’s crazy!!

  39. Spoutinwyze on March 29, 2021 at 12:56 am

try explaining strategy to a 24 or under player, they will rage, call you an idiot and won’t even attempt at a new strategy. your team will fail and they will blame your lack of skills for the loss instead of their inability to listen to new strategies.
I’ve said for about a decade now, that video game need add filters for AGE when match making. I don’t want to game with angry teens. I want to game with friendly thinkers.
i guarantee you some angsty teen will lash out at my comment here. in 3, 2, 1….

  40. Kozacki on March 29, 2021 at 12:57 am

I was really good at COD4:MW then started Playing CSGO at 16 years old, my family was discouraging me from playing games and I didn’t accomplish anything good, now I’m 23 finishing my first year of uni but I still have hope for myself in competitive gaming, the only problem is I don’t have much time right now but I will work more to save money and do both games and studies.

  41. Reee Flex on March 29, 2021 at 12:57 am

im in my 30s… i still am better than most people even teens… so… i mean… genetics and training..

  42. KG Thompson on March 29, 2021 at 12:57 am

Man I really don’t know if im aging, getting smarter, dumber, bored or just flat out bored of games. My standards are high as technology gets better and I’ve played numerous awesome games with amazing stories and game play but I just find a lack of story or mechanics that meets the standards of what I expect from tripple A games I do believe it because they are getting lazy because people play it and even pay extra. At first game companies like ubisoft gave you the option of paying extra for skins as accessories but now ubisoft is making you pay for content that should have already been included and even worse pay for the rest of the story and game. Im losing faith in these games and im not playing nearly as much anymore. I hope something new happens so we can start new so I can enjoy games as I used to.

  43. Osiris261 on March 29, 2021 at 12:57 am

Young people getting shot in games.
" That was a lucky shot, im gonna show him who is boss, heartbeat raising, adrenaline pumping"
    Older people
"That was a good shot, he is must be Korean, let me just find another server real quick"

Remember when i was younger. a friend and i had a Lan party. he started talking about his older brother joining. and how good he was at starcraft. Obviously i got excited.
and i utterly dismantled the both of them so hard his brother didnt wanna go for seconds we never played again. πŸ˜€

i also played alot of counterstrike when i once younger mainly 1.5 i and i visited the local game shop. and played the locals, they had a cs team. they got angry at me because they could not beat me. and when they did. they admitted they used wall hacks. and even then it was somewhat close. i lost but to be fair they cheated. πŸ˜€

i stopped playing cs because i got tired of servers dying and getting banned for no reason. everytime i joined a server over a week. people would be "Hi xxx join my team" and after 15 min the other team would have left the game. everytime i got autoblanced to another team the team i was on before left.

most admins wronfully banned me for cheating. a few server admins contacted me . one guy was cool and i explained to him that i was not cheating. and he made me admin on his server.
    ty. and sorry.
i killed his server people didnt wanna play against me and when they could no get me banned they left finding other servers instead.

tryed a few servers more got banned and i had enough i left counterstrike. whiny ass bitches was my last thought in cs…

moved on to other games like diablo 2 and warcraft 3.
    alot of world of warcraft.
and today my skills at shooter games are gone. no muscle memory left for mouse movement. i dont fell the same rush playing as i used to. im getting older 34.
tryed some overwatch. im Meh at best. the headshot system is so much more challenging then cs. which i like and hate at the same time.

overall im getting to old for competitive gaming.

give me a good game with a "respawn" buttom and im happy.

(if you know who it is then I will be very impressed)

  47. M The g on March 29, 2021 at 1:00 am

gaming just isnt fun anymore, I might be a bit older and not the best which was never the problem I never was good and never really wanted to. Its just that games arent about fun but about a company trying to make money or pushing a political message, things change and I get that but they shouldnt change for the worse. Maybe thats just my opinion

I’ve seen a huge decline. Now I only play NES SNES and Genesis but my skills have taking a massive, massive drop. I used to be able to beat Ninja Gaiden almost every time I tried and a lot of times without dying…even taking months if not years off from playing it. Now I’m in my mid 40’s I’m struggling to get past level 4 and the same applies to just about every game I have. Not sure if it’s boredom or if I’m on the decline mentally…I’m leaning toward the latter because I can’t remember anything anymore.
