I have this laptop and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. If you are researching laptops, DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. I bought mine in 2020 and from day one the keyboard functionality would flake in and out of working. The QWERTY row is barely functional, important letters like I and E and U and O and R do not work, but seemingly I am able to pass all "keyboard functionality tests" in HP Support System. It’s clearly a software issue not a hardware issue, because it works *sometimes.* If you see reviews about the keyboard on this laptop – believe them. Complete garbage, I am so mad I wasted my money on this computer. Only typing from an external keyboard which entirely defeats the purpose of a LAP.TOP. I am going to comment on all the reviews I can find of this product so that other people don’t make the same mistake.

Whats the best laptop for music production and video editing, which also suits programing? I want an all rounder. Was gonna buy this laptop for the look and power, but sounds like it’s not great on performance.

Can I run blender in this and play games?
You will never get 15-19 hours with a dedicated graphics card. That you can forget, HP has same models with only intel graphics and that are ones HP is stating you can get up to 15-19 hours of battery.
is there a SIM card slot for internet without WLAN?

3h30 of battery life? Please…
I had this, the battery sucks like you said, about 2-3 hours average. I sent mine back because the bottom of the laptop melted a plastic folder by watching YouTube. Yes, it gets that hot!
After researching ALLL of so many laptops, I learned a lot about ram, processing speed, resolution, etc. I have 4 Dells one is desk top, an Acer, 3 HP’s. And a MacBook air. None work, but HP ‘s, which the tops have broken from the hinges,, so I do like that the Spectra has a slight wedge like space that allows easy lifting of the screen.. The screen is crystal clear with the Oled, and I Love love the backlight, its nice and bright not over powering. The case and stylus adds added pleasure for me, as I have a little time to purchase a case. So, I suggest, get out and see, feel, for yourselves, because everyone has different interests and nit picks, that may not be your concern, such as, the stickers on the laptop…bahahahaaaa, I paid that absolutely no attention. But that’s me,, shoulders hunch. I needed a speed, ram, durability, clear screen with glare protection as I wear eyeglasses, backlight as I teach and learn, using my laptop so I liked the cutesy color which will cause me to use more frequently. I did like the HP 15 Envy, it is a great choice as well, however I think the Spectra had the i7 processor and not the Envy, with it, still not bad but not Cute, oh, and I like that the Spectra is a 2 in 1, also has the camera slide, not the right terminology, but hey, I suggest you go to a good store with a knowledgeable sales representative, and tell them what YOU WANT,…worked for me, or there is return, repurchase. I within my home, HP’s or the MacBook air haven’t let me down. MacBook is cool as fan on any day!, just not mine, and It doesn’t have a ten key pad, and I don’t favor the scroll on it, or the resolution, those are my nit picks about it,, again, that’s me..Happy shopping!….GREAT REVIEW, WATCH! I’ll have to see about this battery life, though I did follow the directions that says to plug it in, before turning it on, and I let it stay charging. You know, when you get new electronics, you supposed to let them fully charge, to "guarantee " quality battery life. I don’t know, ill update us, I’m curious as well. Oh, I did see a review on Amazon, where one was delivered damaged screen. This made me leary, however, return, is on my side, so ill keep that thought in mind, about the flicker, but I’m getting ready to enjoy it,…until next time….
Can you plug in both an external microphone as well as a mouse both of which are normally USB? I only saw 1 USB port.

I love my HP Spectre, i have the 14 inch version with the full hd screen and 1080p screen. The design is like nothing else like there and looks very classy. As I only use it mainly for school work i went with the full hd screen and i5 processor and battery life has been amazing. Lasts about the same as my ipad. My only complaint is I wish the speakers were a little bit more punchy in bass and the fans didn’t turn on as much as they do
I also noticed you said speakers is on bottom of laptop, if it’s same as 2020 model then laptop has 4 speakers / quad speakers 2 on bottom under laptop and 2 facing up above the keyboard under grill. So it does not only have 2 speakers.
Why would anybody spend $2k laptop to sketch notes on 😂😂, rather go for a $500 one.
Ok I’m give you guys a clear cut no bs review of mine.
I recently bought this aesthetic af laptop for two reasons.
1: for note taking and the freedom you have on windows compared to apple.
2: gaming ( ik this sounds dumb but I just finished HS and wanted a 2 in 1 which could satisfy both my gaming and note taking needs, and man was I disappointed)
1: I used to own an iPad before this that I borrowed for a year and thus I had become familiar with its amazing note taking abilities. For example it’s fantastic palm rejection and the versatility of apps such as good notes. Now when it comes to the spectra I gotta say it’s pen is amazing allowing you to do multiple stuff at one butttt I got the tilt pen for it and that thing was terrible for notes it’s tilt feature made my words disproportionate and bad overall. Secondly the only good app for note taking is one note and it’s not the best app at all especially when comparing it to good notes. Trust me the note taking on apple is just on a different level compared to 2 in 1 laptops. Furthermore the palm rejection is ass on these laptops especially the spectra I had to get a dam drawing glove to be able to take notes without raging every other second due to unwanted taps occurring. Ik I sound like if blowing apple big time here but it’s genuinely the only good thing for taking notes butt I gotta say I hate apple like no tomorrow for it’s over rated ness and bad customer care policies like making everything over priced.
2: now when it comes to gaming, all I thought was that you needed ram to play and that’s all, so I basically spent 2700 bucks on the best version of the spectra only to find out that it had no video ram at all and btw v ram is what you use to get good FPS. So I’m sitting there with my dick in my hand try a play games like battle filed 5 and assassins creed, averaging 20 FPS at best. The only games I could play were at best fallout new vagus, which ngl is an amazing game, but is bad graphics wise.
So to end this off
1: this laptop had terrible palm rejection
2: cannot game at alll
3: just get an iPad for notes and a ps4 or 5 for gaming
Both of these will cost less than this laptop
The only good thing about this laptop is it’s aesthetic design.
Also battery life is terrible af. This mf at best lasted 3 hours.

Hello, do you know how to fix the sleep mode problem when connected with the monitor as 2nd display? Whatever the sleep time mode I select, once it reach and go to sleep mode, the screen never wake up until it is restarted.
Thanks for the detailed review. I was about to but this laptop but the PWM flickering just won’t do it for me. Also the battery life is awful, I have watched the 13" & 14" reviews and looks like they are way better. Such a shame for such a beautiful machine – like beauty without brains lol. I hope HP does something to sort out the problems otherwise this might be one of the worst rated laptops in 2021.
My wifes and colleageus spectare is super slow and now not in use. I have only receive negative reviews till now. Only positive I have heard is the super kool design and I agree it looks good only.

Bought the i7 10th Gen. but the fans keep working excessively even no apps are opened! Audio issues and the battery doesn’t even last for 3 hours!
When you call they’ll keep asking you to do "Extended Tests" which are basically waste of time..

I bought this spectre and it’s internally fragile! I had it for only 6 months and soonest I downloaded camtashia it caught a virus And I had to send it in for service! I’ll go for a Mac next time!

Hello Matthew. I wanted to buy this before, but I quit because the staff who sells this told me that we cannot upgrade the SSD as the graphic card took the place where the extra SSD should be, may I know is that true?
sorry bro, you musta got a lemon. i got the i7/16RAM/1TB/NVIDIA GTX , same one i believe you’re reviewing here… and it 100% outperforms macbook and surface, simultaneously running premier pro and FL Studio. and while downloading/updating/installing background applications, i can still get 5hr out of the battery. also, you’re nitpicking with the stickers.. who cares? it’s the most appealing design of any 2 in 1 laptop, so much so that stickers can bother you since there’s nothing else bad to say.
what about the overheating problem on HP Spectre X360 Laptop 15t 2020 ?? the physical symptom is overheating specially on the speaker outlet over the keyboard and the software symptom is "System interrupts " on the task manager …. thank you

thanks for the review- I returned 3 HP and 1 Dell laptop because of a webcam issue- 2 Elite books and a Spectre 13.3 inch. I am waiting for the Spectre 16 inch or Elite book Dragon Fly max- I understand they have 5 mega pixel cameras.. Still not available in India though…
