This is how to clean your oven like a pro in 5 minutes. I will show you step by step cleaning a very dirty oven into one that looks new using selleys oven clear net. Usually you can use natural ingredients to clean the oven such as bi-carb soda or vinegar however when the oven is as dirty and heavy grease like this oven was a chemical may be the best way. In this video i use sellys oven cleaner which works very well and for the price its unbelievable. Im sure most other oven cleaners should work just as well. I’ve literally just used that exact oven cleaner on my oven and it’s crap!! It didn’t do the job so I now have to repeat the process and I’ve triggered my asthma thanks to the fumes. Thumbs down to oven cleaners, I’ll be using asthma friendly processes in future.
We clean the racks in the laundry tub. Also we use mr muscle non caustic. Pop the wire rack over the grill tray and spray to save product. 😊

Why would you spray something marked POISON in your home let alone in your oven. I’m pretty sure the instructions say wear gloves as well and they should say wear a MASK better still, find alternatives. Think I can get my oven just as clean using baking soda and a scourer.

Cook your meat and poultry in oven roasting bags , saves alot of oven spashes when roasting.

I am assuming this is NOT a self clean oven. Perhaps you should warn your viewers – Do not use any commercial oven cleaner in or around any part of the self-clean oven. Continuous use of chemical cleaners on a self-cleaning oven liner will cause etching and discoloration of the liner, and eventually cause the oven not to clean effectively when using the self-clean cycle.

For those who have self clean on oven….or a special coating inside oven beware that if you spray any harsh chemicals in oven it goes against the instructions in your appliance manual and will void the warranty on your oven.

My tip is if you shut the oven door try to stuff some kitchen roll along the gap at the bottom of the door where it meets the oven, as the gunk runs down the glass when closed makes a mess. Tbh I think it’s better if you leave the door flat, it bakes on better

This is good but too much waste of water and paper towels. you can achieve the same results with microfiber cloth and a small bucket of water. Also, those products have dangerous caustic fumes; therefore, gloves must be worn all the time.

Where can I buy Selley’s oven cleaner?
Hi Bill – I live in England and have been sadly remiss in keeping the oven clean. I did have a good old go about a year or more ago but gave up as it was just not coming clean.
It appears really ingrained and although I did it three times which was not cheap and exactly as you have done the inside top was no better so I gave up.
I can only guess the chemicals you can use are more powerful than what we are allowed to use.
Selleys comes up on Amazon but it will not allow me to purchase it.
All we get is stuff like Oven Pride or Oven Brite which are useless. Would you advise using some sort of scraper on the ceiling of the oven? Any advice mate?

One of the worst mistakes I ever made was cleaning an oven without gloves. My hands went all shiny and hard like plastic, then they cracked and they were very sore for like a week. I’ve since learnt that oven cleaner is also an excellent paint stripper!
Most oven doors can be removed, which makes cleaning much easier.
