How do you get to paint
Why no RAM specs included, would have been helpful to know RAM specs too. Anyway I recently put together a PC using recommendations from your previous videos about RAM usage on Photoshop, I opted for 32gb RAM with the Ryzen 5 5600G & was able to change the VRAM to 16gb in the Gigabyte bios. Thank you for all the Valuable information you provide it is really appreciated.
At the moment , budget : 12600k , rtx 3050 , 32gb preferably 2×16 configuration 3200cl16 but preferably 3600cl16 or better.
Or you could grab one of those asus b660 ddr5 boards that allow non K OC & 2×16 gb of fastest ddr5 you can get your hands on , again rtx 3050 & i5 12500 or 12600 (non K) . The 12400 does clock higher but the iGPU is much worse. 12500 & 12600 with 115 BCLK multiplier & you’ll be cruising at 5 GHz+ per core wiping the floor with anything else

I don’t remember right now, but… Did you mention in your test video about the 5700G (from some weeks ago I think) if you tested how brush painting works with this APU ? I mean, solely to know if it gets lag. I know disabling GPU acceleration in preferences (in any PC) makes the brush (whatever the brush) lag really bad. But you already told us that despite people saying Photoshop (and illustrator) requires a discrete card, that you could make it work without one – or activate GPU acceleration in PS preferences if it’s possible though it’s only using the APU-. GPU disabling (in preferences) might work for filters and regular photo editing, but if GPU is OFF, it lags in the brush. In any case, what is quite key (for any job involving a brush) is if it’s possible to paint on a 8k x 8k pixels (for example) canvas with a brush of 300px without lagging. If that’s so, I can tell you it’s the cpu to get by any illustrator on a low budget (which are surely a majority), avoiding entirely a GPU purchase.
