Best Budget Phones For Battery Life (2021) | Poco, Moto, Xiaomi & more…
Reviewing and comparing the best budget phones in 2021 for battery life, as (hopefully) we can once again emerge from our homes. Here’s my favourite affordable smartphones from Xiaomi (including the Redmi 9), the Poco X3 NFC and M3, plus Motorola’s Moto G9 Power and more. Check out my full unboxing and review videos for these mobiles, plus my other best of round-ups for the greatest budget friendly smartphones.
We start with a look at the Moto G9 Power, which offers a massive 6000mAh battery for a price under £200. It’s a respectable handset on all accounts, with a stock Android vibe and strong enough PubG performance. Matching that battery size is the Poco M3, yours for just £150 in the UK. This handset can be a little juddery here and there but you can still game if you like and the Full HD display is a step up from Motorola’s smartphone.
A bit more cash bags you the Poco X3 NFC or Moto G9 Plus, with better overall performance (although a reduced battery size).
You can also grab great cheap phones from Xiaomi, with excellent longevity. And Doogee offers a mighty 10000mAh cell in its S88 Pro, which is one of the best budget blowers for outdoor enthusiasts. Full reviews of these and more here on Tech Spurt!
I bought the redmi note 9 thanks to the information from this guy, best tech channel ever.
Excellent review comparison of budget phones.

Could you do a review on the Galaxy M31? That’s one that I’ve been waiting for for quite some time
I have been getting fantastic battery life out of my Oneplus 8. Easily 5, sometimes damn near 6 hours of SOT. And the 30 watt warp charge is a beast.

A few months ago I had to make an emergency buy before 5G was available, I bought a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite but bought it from HK supplier because they offered the 8GB / 128GB model, it has a 5260mAh battery that last me 2-3 days.

Realme 7 has a good battery life. I only charge it after 2 days of use for just 1 hour charging 😊👍
Samsung m31, 51?
I’ve been waiting for a video just like this to help decide on the M31 or G9 Power. I will now watch the video and see what you say!
It’s mAh, Milliamp hour. Not just milliamp.
I remember buying a Nokia 5.3 last summer, just after your review of it….so I guess the 3.4 is its successor? …or is it the 5.4? Great summary review of budget phones around now.
Where do you come up with lines like ”tougher than a shirtless Jason Statham”?!! …it has to be up there with ”a gin soaked Steven Segal”! Chris, you come up with absolute classic lines!
maybe you can check samsung m51 –> 7k
Nokia 3dot4 💪💪
Pls Review the TECNO CAMON 16 PREMIER
All great, I love your content! I feel old though, who is Jason Statham? Could you please do a video of the best sounding budget phones, as audio is something that often seems to get compromised for cheap phones. I’m totally blind, and have virtually no interest in cameras and screens and so on. However I use my phone for listening to audiobooks and music, and as I have to use speech to access my phone all the time, even a relatively marginal difference in the audio quality that comes out of the speakers really makes a difference. Obviously when I’m listening to music I stick headphones on, but I use the speaker for videos and audiobooks and of course accessing all the phone’s features, notifications and so on, using Android talkback It also helps to have phones which have a relatively stock android experience. Combine this with the ability to expand the phone storage as much as possible to get all my books and music on, and a decent battery life and there is my perfect phone.
Buy the phone that you want and invest $25.00 in a backup battery brick. You have 2+ days and never have to look for a plug.
hey. what is that game controller you were using.?
name Please
Cheers for the video Chris, happy new year 👍
I’m a super fan of your channel, I look for your every next vid like a junkie. But I would like you to, if not completely boycott chinese companies for what they’re doing to the Uighur people then at least mention it. Touch upon it. There a a big wave of celebrities and football players that have cut ties with them due to this. Its inhumane what they’re getting away with.
I’d love a reply from you aswel pal.
Thanks for your work
Im looking at the Blackview line. one has 10k mah and another has 15k
I came for the phones, I stayed for the accent
I have the Realme 7 pro and i agree, having 65W fast charging is the best.
No one’s heard of Samsung Galaxy M51? It has a whopping 7000 mAh battery! It also has the Snapdragon 730G chipset paired with 8 gigs of RAM. The display is probably the best in this price range even though it’s refresh rate is limited to 60hz
Could you Do a vid on smart phones with the best displays at a budget
Happy new year Chris, trust you been dodging the mystery Chinese flu. Mate no mention of the best battery life available currently, Galaxy M51 with the 7000 Mah.
Thanks for your good videos I would like your opinion I like Motorola but it’s not readily available through many companies here in Canada I’m looking at the LG velvet for overall performance please give me your opinion
i wish chris will choose me and give me a birthday present and hoping to have one of the phones that he is unboxing
best phones in 2020 where ?
My Samsung S9, battery is just 3000. I’m thinking of buying another with better battery but not wanting to spend too much. In the end I bought a 10, 000 powerbank with wireless charging at just $30. Problem solved.
hey bro do one video with performance also
..watching all of those good stuff from my vivo y11..
Korona is evolving, good for nature
Yo! Tech Spurt! I promised to give feedback, but cant find original comment. Dude…. You SO FREAKING RIGHT!
The Poco X3 by Xiaomi is AMAZING! Great battery, great screen, uber fast chipset.
Best 250$ USD I ever spent… totally worth it and I’ve only had it for a week. Thanks so much for your breakdowns, but its even better than you presented. Buying a second for the GF and a 3rd for the brother who swears "Only Amurican". Thanks!
I could use some help. I currently have an iPhone 6s with the worst battery life that you could imagine. I’m not looking for anything super powerful and I would say that my iPhone 6s does everything I need it to except hold a charge. With that in mind, I’m looking for a phone that will hold a charge as I work Instacart/doordash, and keep up to at least the standards of my Iphone 6s. I mostly use it for social media, texing/calling, financial apps, internet browsing, Instacart/doordash, and a little bit of youtube. I’m trying not to go over $300. What do you think is the right fit?
One additional comment out of all the crazy Motorola phones that you reviewed which one is your total favorite
Thanks again and stay safe
Realme 7 Pro:
