And what happens when you end up with one company you never called in the first place? We uncover fake listings across the country and many lead back to one call centre north of Toronto.

$280 to remove a sock from a pipe smh
Why can’t you just fix it yourself? It’s not rocket science
I run an hvac company, these ppl are bad but a lot of what CBC says makes no sense it’s not the job of the company to know exactly what’s wrong and give you an exact price before even seeing what’s wrong..
Thanks for exposing this story! We have used an appliance repair company owned by a guy who is so great, name given by someone knew. The whole street uses him!

When people can’t bother to spend 30s on Google finding a list of tests to run, then 5 minutes running those tests, ofcourse you’ll get scammed. Even if you don’t feel comfortable replace a part, even though it’s just a few bolts and wire harnesses, you’ll atleast know you aren’t being scammed.
When they stole my 3 wheeler I posted it on Craigslist and I offered $100 for it back ,I was true to my word
Here in Ontario we have a lot of these tv repair companies also operating out of one place with many different company names and they perform mediocre work.
What’s the point if you don’t confront them? This show is trash and should be reported to the triple t for trash trash trash 🗑️

She is so beautiful
As a technician I am always worried about someone else checking my work at anytime down the road. So I make it a point to do quality work that should be done in the best interest of the customer. Not in the best interest of my paycheck.
And 700 dollars…. just go get a new washing machine!
but…..but, The commercials and TV programming tell me this can’t be happening. diversity is strength!!!! bahahah. 🙁
if someone rips you off by saying $80 on the phone and then changes the price to $300 just tell them to take it out then. put in a complaint with the company and/take legal actions. dont even need a lawyer tbh.

Thats not how it works. You can purchase the part on your own but for warranty purposes they go through their own part vendors. Just like every other service there is a markup on the price to make a profit to continue to use the resource of said vendor. I cant speak on behalf of the ones doing repairs where none are needed. Any real company will not use customer bought parts. You get what you pay for buying aftermarket parts on places like amazon, and often times people dont know how to buy the correct parts. Cheaping out is never the answer. Look for a company thats highly recommended and licensed and insured to show they take responsibility. My company goes as far as insurance to protect scratching a customers floor with an appliance. A few bad apples should not be responsible for everyone disrespecting the profession of another working man. Every service trade works this way, from plumbers to electricians.
So those omega appliance and fc lockswith owners are mafia
So instead of depending on google itself to fix all the false business that pop up in searches with locations actually look for the place and make sure its legit
The easiest fix is to install an Adblocking extension. Please consider promoting that as a serious suggestion.
🤣
How ‘good’ of Google to review all Canadian listings for repairman. They did the same about the lock smiths Now…. Only the rest of the world to tackle ! The EXACT SAME THING happened to my mother who lives in Netherlands, Europe.
Show his face so he can’t fool anyone else
Appliance mob!
Wow it doesn’t surprise me that a scammer is in Indian.
And…I am going to go in! $700? On that alone you should just buy a new one.
I hate folks who try to get over on others. They will soon run into the right one…
