Bought Alienware Area-51m R2 (rtx2070s) (i7-10700) on independence day for 2k$ from best buy
Bought the M14, R4 at $1850 – great machine but terrible battery life – also the RAM on soldered on the MB so no ability to upgrade later

Don’t ever get a Dell G series laptop of any kind. They are mediocre compared to the rest of the competition at their price point. Their whole purpose is to make other laptops look good. They’re actually ass.
I had a Dell G7 7588. It thermal throttled a lot. I had to tweak a lot of things for it to even run properly, which forced me to do all kinds of things that a more technically inclined person would probably laugh at me. It could get loud. It’s keyboard was so damn meh. It’s battery life was pathetic. The gaming performance showed its age after 2 yrs. The panel was very color inaccurate. This is essentially each of the G series. Don’t get one.
PLEASE HELP me to find the one PCI 4.0 ssd slot on my GP66 Leopard 11. There are two but only one is gen 4.

The trick with buying a Best Buy laptop is to figure out how they compromised it to save money and undercut the non- Best Buy equivalent. I’m typing on an older MSI Stealth that had a TN panel that was SO BAD I had to upgrade it myself.
g14 is riddled with qc issues.
when i bought my laptop the fps was great and all a few years the fps was normal but it suddenly going to 10 fps and going back to normal and it keeps repeating in any games pls help.

I just returned my Omen 15 and I really want to get the G15 Advantage edition but there are so many Best Buy reviews about GPU failures due to the liquid metal. Do you have an opinion on this? Also there are supposedly a lot of driver compatibility issues with it being a new gpu. Seems like one of those computers that looks good on paper, but has a 30-40% failure rate? Also considering the GS66 stealth with the 11th gen cpu and 3060

i heard razor’s services aren’t very good and the battery tends to need replacement after a few years. Is it still worth buying though compared to the g14/g15/m16? I don’t switch laptops often and I need something that could last me another 8-10 years LOL

The main downside of the Blade 14 is the RAM rather than the price. Soldered 16GB with no option for anything higher just kills this laptop for anything other than gaming and light usage. Huge waste of 5900HX dies.
I bought the ASUS AMD Advantage G15. It flies! It is right now on sale for 1499 at Best Buy and the previous weekend was 1549. Stupid crazy cheap for the performance

I think that the Asus G17 AMD Advantage edition will be laptop of the year. Unfortunately it is not released yet (3Q release date). But the 15 inch version is excellent for people who want the smaller laptop version.

The X17 only has advanced optimus if you get the specific screen. The others don’t have it, like the 4K screen. Very disappointing. I still brought one though with the 4K screen. Most of my actual gaming will probably be on external screen anyways.

I recommend everyone check the Best Buy reviews for the ASUS ROG Strix G15 AMD RX 6800m (8:00 in the video) apparently some users are having display and blue screen issues. I hope those aren’t true!!!
