Sorry but I don’t think a soundbar can be called ‘home theatre’… Only good enough for boosting everyday TV programmes.

Where would you rank the Samsung Q60 R sound bar?

I disagree, Vizio is disappointing. Wireless sub constantly disconnects

Interesting review. However, I found your pacing disturbing…too fast and too high-pitched. Also, the background music was annoying.

Ok. One problem with an orientation on future tech like Atmos is that a lot of people have large collections of DVDs which only have Dolby 5.1 or the original DVD DTS audio formats. We want to know which sound bars do a good job of playing back those older formats without using too many virtualization tricks. Example, If I am going to pay for a couple extra rear speakers for the Yamaha 400 series or LG SK/SL series, am I going to get true rear channels or is it virtualized.

$499? That’s still a lot of money. But man, they all look very nice.

This felt like just a bunch of product spots with swiped video from the manufacturers mean to entice viewers to purchase from your affiliate links. None of these are worth the money. The Sonos (your winner) needs about $1000 of add-on speakers to live up to its reputation and NO ONE should buy that thing for the bar alone (way overpriced).

The Vizio 5.1 can be found for around $199.00 today and it’s a fantastic budget pick at that price, but there are many better picks for a $500 budget.

Better to get powered speakers, a lot are less than $499. Just as easy to set up. You can also listen to music.

    The Vizio 5.1.2 is $499.00

    The Vzio 5.. is $199.00

I would have put the Vizio ahead of the Sonos as number 1. Choose Sonos if you only care about music. But with the 5.1 surround sound Vizio offers it blows away the Sonos feature wise. If you are willing to spend a bit more but still under $500, go with the Vizio 5.1.2. It has Atmos via up firing speakers and 4K passthrough.

WHY ON EARTH do people want listening devices from large corporate entities affiliated with intelligence agencies around their homes?🎙 It’s just bizarre that this is okay now. 👂Can I put recording devices in your home as well?

Vizio is a nuisance to turn on…lots of buttons and doesnt stay connected.
