We’re the opposite with the toaster! We use the toaster oven most of the time, so the toaster is currently stored away in the kitchen, but I see it leaving soon because it doesn’t get used
Definitely looking forward to making sourdough starter and baking bread in my bread machine with you!
Great things to think about! I have minimized to about the same as you minus the bread cooker, but i have not used my crock pot in "years"!!! I am gonna think about selling it:) thank you!
Your little outtake at the end was adorable!
💖
It was fun to see what you have! Everyone has different kitchen needs but its nice to hear how other people use things so you can really think about if you need/use your own stuff. I wish I had known about that Ninja with the food processor type bowl years ago. I have a Ninja with a traditional blender and then the smoothie blender cups too. But I have a separate Cuisinart food processor (which I do love and use) but man I’d love them combined! Anyway, one tip for all those new kitchen appliances like Instantpots or air fryers. Find a friend who has one that will let you borrow it for a week or 2 to see if you like it. I borrowed my mom’s instantpot and realized that I didn’t love using it and I found it more work than I wanted to deal with. I know some love them and that’s awesome but it wasn’t for me! I’m just glad I got to realize that before I invested the $ in it.
So great as always Shannon! Thanks for the reminder to put my breadmaker to use! 💛🤗💛
I do love my Instagram pot, but I hardly use my air fryer

We like the Zero Water pitcher filtration system. Gets the water super clean and they give you a water tester to monitor with. It would be great to have a household system though.
When your electric kettle dies, I wonder if you’d like to install an Instant Hot tap at your kitchen sink. Design & utility wise, it might be a fit.
Ours actually has 2 taps so that red is hot and blue is chilled (altho. most people leave the blue as room temp). We use it for all our drinking & cooking water.
Because of this I picked a fridge WITHOUT a door water dispenser (typically the 1st thing to break in a fridge) to gain extra fridge space (altho it is hooked up for automatic ice, which I partake of all year round, even with the Instant HotCold tap).
We use a Big Burkey water filter. I just gave away a big crock pot as well. We’ve paired down to a toaster oven, blender, hand. mixer, electric coffee percolator and small food processor.
I never had a bread maker. I just put it in a loaf pan and in the oven. What does the bread maker do that’s different? I’m just very curious since I never owned or used one! Thank you!
We had to get a new toaster after 14 years it was the cheapes one at walmart. I love my crock pot I had 2 and miss having 2 but I’m trying to cook differnt and now that I prep my meals on the weekends. We also have a ninja blender and love it but it’s braking so in that kicks the bucket will either get a Vitamix or Blendtec. I cook more Mexican and Asian food.
Great video. When I start to think about all the appliances I have it’s probably a lot. I use them all tho. Waffle maker, toaster, microwave, stand mixer, blender, crock pot, coffee pot and air popcorn maker.
A pottery water filter was a great option for us. You aren’t changing filters as much and they are cheap and the pottery Keeps the water cooler even without refrigeration

Hi Sharron, I have to admit it’s hard to give up some of the kitchen gadgets and appliances because I LOVE to cook and entertain and my appliances make it easy to prepare for large groups of people. We also feel guilty about our water filtration pitcher and the use of the filter but we are able to mail in our old filters to be recylced. My parents have a Nespresso pod coffee maker and it would upset me to see the amounts of pods in the trash and after some research I found you’re able to mail in used pods and they are recycled… It’s catching on with other family members too. I will always stick to my stovetop coffee percolator and compost my coffee beans. Interesting video…Thanks for sharing, hope you’re having a great day.
Great ideas! I agree that if we cut down on the unnecessary things in life, it opens up time to do the things we enjoy or value most (like making bread or homemade foods more)☺ including unnecessary kitchen gadgets!!
I have 5 crockpots and we use all of them on a regualr basis. I love them and my Instantpot. I don’t have any appliances we don’t use all the time. I also love my Ninja!
An instant pot is essentially a glorified rice cooker/slow cooker and it ain’t so instant so if you didn’t get much use out of slow cooker you definitely won’t use instapot.
I’m in the market for a new blender actually. Mine is old and broken I’m thinking about getting the Ninja. Love that it comes with a food processor ☺️
Great Video Shannon! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hope y’all are doing well! 🙂❤️🙂
😄
We have a crockpot (I don’t work out of the home but I love to prep a meal in the morning on days we have afternoon/evening activities. Also I love to save meat bones and veggie scraps and make broth.) What we don’t have is a toaster! We started broiling toast on a sheet pan in the oven (we can fit 8 pieces of toast at once) when our last toaster broke and ended up sticking with that instead of buying a new one! Thank you for sharing. I would love to ditch the traditional coffee pot but my husband is hanging onto it for now – I tried switching to a French press but he wasn’t a fan (we kept it for camping though). I love instant espresso with a little bit of a protein shake for creamer. Hand mixer works just fine for us as well. I dreamed of a big mixer, was gifted one, and then never used it lol. Congrats on all the progress you have made with your home! We bought a home built in 1956 about two years ago and are still in the process of giving it a lot of love.
My husband and I got two instant pots one Christmas and were initially thinking that is just overkill and were about to give away one of them, but after trying out the first one, we realized how amazing they were and ended up keeping both. We use these almost daily, and heavily rely on them especially for our meal prep day on Sunday. We both can make our lunches in these pots, and not have to wait for each other to finish using the pot. This timesaver alone is enough to justify the extra space. I really am not a fan of cooking elaborate meals, so anything to simplify meal prep for me is worth it. It is definitely different from family to family on what you need. We also only have a hand mixer, and honestly only ever use it to shred meat or mashed potatoes or things like that because we only bake once every 1-2 months.
