I must not have been paying attention to your channel up until this video, because I guessed that your number 1 would be Arch Linux.
My list:
5. Arch
4. Arch
3. Arch
2. Arch
1. Arch
Eric is a very cool guy. His videos saved me a couple of times.
I am just getting acquainted to linux through Raspberry pi, but I am now quite interested. I think I will get an old laptop or desktop for a full system. So your opinions, and explanations are quite helpful.
I personally recommend the number 1 arco linux… I use xfce version, it has so much installed packages if you don’t need you can uninstall… and other way calamares with internet you can install apps you need…
btw i use arch
I think the world and youtube need another 100 geeks to state their top 5-20 top linux distros.
Great video! Where can I get your wallpaper?
Yes arcolinux.!!!!

Heh! Whatever! I’m gonna stick with Ubuntu LTS.
Who is watching the video in 2021?👍
I’m a Ubuntu Studio person these days, so far as Linux desktop is concerned.
puppy
q4os
the raspberry pi release for desktop
peppermint
I used to use linux lite until they went 64bit only. Hated it afterwards.
Gotta install ’em all!
my own list:
GNU/Linux.
These sound like great distro’s. I want to be a student of Linux and maybe move to a SysAdmin job in a year/18 months from now. Which one is good to start with?
So, IMHO, any distribution that is not widely supported by vendors with an installer package is problematic. Meaning, to use as your full time work system and daily driver, you need to make sure it is supported with available installer packages. It seems most support deb and rpm. Anything other than that, you are reliant on the distribution providing. I personally love arch linux, but then is Microsoft releasing installers for that distro. or are they releasing deb and rpm packages ? Am I missing something here ? Also, what is your daily driver OS you rely on ?
I started my Linux journey this year and i am addicted to Linux..
I used manjaro but internet was not working. I tried reinstalling even then had no effect. Then I realised that manjaro is not the best distro to start and therefore jumped to mint xfce. I also installed awesome window manager to it. Currently I am using peppermint (I need to get more ram) and it is really fine. Also removed the default desktop environment (I don’t know why I did that) and now successfully running awesome wm and openbox..
Thanks dt your channel was a great help to me in these few months…
Linux Lite FTW!! 🤘😈🤘
What is that tool in top right corner at 2:46
Video has the wrong title. There is not a top 5 of best Linux distro’s. It is just a list you think are the top 5 best distro’s. Why are these 5 on the list and why didn’t others make it to the list? Again: your preference. These videos are just too ridiculous to watch, so I don’t. Thumbs down.
my top 2: Manjaro and Arch Linux
I started to like Manjaro after I automagically broke my Arch Linux system 7 times by testing things on the terminal
easier to install Manjaro, and brings the same experience as pure arch if you choose the lite version
What window manager was shown in the first video of arcolinux? That’s the one Luke Smith uses haha
I have tried many distros with different desktop environments and stuff but only part of debian family and i personallly use linux mint cinnamon edition and i recently tried manjaro architect as my first arch family distro and well i broke it and got frustrated pretty quick coz i never had such problems but you totally convinced me to try arco will definitely try that ……..i am pretty bored with mint now like sure i am not going to switch because it the most stable and user friendly distro with so much customizing options but just you know nothing break no fun no new thing
English speaking countries really need to adopt the words LIBRE and GRATIS. "free" doesn’t help at all
what do you guys think of q4os
I cannot, will not, and must not apologize for loving Zorin best of all
personal list
4. Funtoo
3. NixOS
2.
Arch Linux
1. Fedora
Mine:
Manjaro
Xubuntu (most polished XFCE)
Deepin
FerenOS
Debian (fav shell distro)
This man has so many friends and family that he can’t stop installing all the distros of linux on thier machines.
MX, antiX, LXLE, Q4OS, Kodachi
For me best is Manjaro (Haven’t used arch Linux yet)
And for Ubuntu based, PopOs
Using linux mint for monts, the developer team is so helpful you wont believe untill if u r not using it.
This is great. I used to be a serious distro-hopper, but had mostly stopped because … well, I thought the interesting stuff had all kinda settled down. Glad to see I was wrong. 🙂
kali linux end of the discussion
I’m new to linux… but have tried installing tons of linux distros (linux mint, linux lite, puppy linux, ubuntu, lubuntu, ubuntu mate, feren, deepin, garuda, etc and even android and chrome OS) just to find one that works for me. Since I’m new, I look of ease of use (so a simple graphical user interface). So here’s my list:
1. deepin
2. feren
3. linux mint
#1 top Linux distro: Hannah Montana Linux!!!
What about Clear Linux? Rumor says that even Intel supports it. Can you make a video about. About how to use the package manager, installation and other things
My favourite linux distro,
1. Manjaro XFCE
2. Q4OS Trinity
3. Linux Mint XFCE
4. Arch Linux XFCE
5. Xubuntu
But for daily, i use Manjaro I3WM 😋
I cannot believe Garuda missed this list.
What’s up with that, DT? 😀
Ubuntu GamePack and regular Ubuntu won’t install on my PC, only Linux Mint and Pop! OS will install.
How about Linux Garuda, is it suitable for beginners (someone who is completely non-technical and only does casual browsing and article writing)?
My personal list:
– Arch
– Manjaro
– MX Linux
– Parrot OS
– Debian Testing
