I’ve personally tested these phones and these are the top picks for camera tech, gaming performance, battery life and the everyday experience. From the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro and Poco X4 to the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G and Samsung Galaxy M32, these handsets offer solid value for your cash.
Xiaomi is still one of the best out there in 2022 for low prices. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is hitting the UK soon and impresses in almost every area. Some camera quirks aside (like the lack of 4K video shooting), and that app situation of course, it’s hard to find much to fault. As long as you don’t mind MiUI that is. The Poco X4 Pro is essentially the same phone though, so check pricing before you commit!
The Realme 9 Pro Plus should creep under that budget price soon, else the Realme 9 Pro is quite well specced too. I’d personally get the OnePlus Nord CE 2 instead, as it boasts a slick OLED screen, decent battery life and a reasonably dependable camera too.
Then there’s Motorola’s budget phones if you’re after a stock Android vibe instead. While Samsung’s Galaxy M32 is a good smartphone for this affordable asking price, with OneUI and solid security tools.

For 300£ (which is 350€) I would check the refurbished market. In Germany you can get an IPhone 11 for that price if you are lucky. And it outperforms every phone on this list + gets updates and support until at least 2025. I’m sure there are refurbished Android Phones as well that would be a bargain. Check it out.
