Roy G. Biv, if you will
Gaming is like doing squats for your brain.. there’s literally no better mental exercise. I hope I’m this sharp when I’m his age.
Wolfenstein is the shit fr
Heart warming. Roy was a real G

Amazing video, this deserves way more views. Thanks for sharing
This video is a message to all who think they are too old to play video games, you never are, as longs you got life in you you are never too old for this kinda thing, big respect to both you and Roy G, thee Legend <3 <3
Just saw a comment from him in Steam complaining that he could play Day of Defeat in single player heheheh
I’m 72 and started playing video games when I was 67. Being retired and having been through a couple of divorces, I have only SS Retirement to live on. Video games are the cheapest hobby one can get into. Though I started on a PS4, graduated to an Xbox One X. I now use a gaming pc. I just can’t seem to get my muscle memory to adjust to using a key board and mouse, thus only play games on a pc that have game pad support aka Xbox Controlle’s.
Growing up and observing how old people just seem to waste away because they don’t have sufficent money and or bad phsicalness. I realized that one needs to keep their mentalness occupide. It does help to some degree to having a bit of OCD, I may have more than average based on how I can play various games over and over and over again and again. Which is kindof a good things when there are not as many games to play that I care to play.
Since I started playing and living on a fixed income I’ve accumulated more than 78,000 hours playing various video games. I have considerably more time to play then most seniors my age because I now live in a part of Mexico that doesn’t have TV, Radio, Newpaper’s, etc in English. In which most seniors in the U.S. have available. So rather than just sitting there and watching a moniter I get to utilize my brain in attempting to do what ever the agenda curtails in a particular game. I’ve played all the games related to the MYST series, which one uses a convention mouse conventiohally and not a game pad and are basically puzzles that really chalange ones mind.
Utilizing a game pad, I’d suggest No Mans Sky, HitMan original as well as two and three, Elite Dangerous, Red Dead Redemption original and Two; For starter’s. Which can be boughten on sale for anywhere between 20 and 40 dollar’s U.S. today. New games cost are generally about 60 dollars U.S. thus I wait until there a year or two old, reading the reviews of those who have played it during my wait before buying them.
Personally I’ve only got one more thing to accomplish on my bucket list, which is to observe a total solar eclipse in a couple of years in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico a couple of more years, which is why I retired here. Until then and hopefully many years afterwards, I’ll continue to play video games.
And in case one is wondering, I’m married. And as most old people whom are, we both enjoy doing what we do separately. She has her things which keeps her mind and body busy, I have mine. And we dedicate one day a week that we do something together, generally going somewhere nice to eat.
Well…Roy makes me feel great to be a senior gamer…Thank you…Rest in peace
Coolest grandpa ever!
why it is so weird to people? i think that most of us will play video games even in old peoples home (something hand held like vita or switch unless u have apartment there so you can hook up console or computer)
This is bom all of the boomer
R.i.p
I am right there with you, I play FPS at 52
imagine getting shit on by this guy in COD
The old man might have been an army back then, because the old man’s behavioral consciousness kept his guns up and down minute and every second. So well prepared also like killer may be in the second world war?
What was his favorite FPS? We need to make him an OP playable character in honor of him
O.M.G !!!!!!!!!!!! I can only dream and pray I’m as awesome as Roy when I’m his age……….. What a wonderful video and an Incredible Man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You again for sharing …………………………….
Great video
8.22.2020 Update: It is with a heavy heart I notify that Roy is no longer with us. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know Roy & honored that he shared his experience & love for video games in this video. We will miss him.
I wounder if he plays any ww2 shooters? If he was born in 1924 he would have been drafted.
My gramgram plays fortnight

he proably learned his skills in ww2 and nam then perected it in gulf war and then went into gaming… RIP
I love the fact you took the time to make and share this video. I’m 62 and have been playing computer games as far back as the 70’s and then pong when it came out and every video game sense it seems like. I saw a video of an 80+ year old woman gamer that plays to keep her mind sharp and hand / eye coordination good… Thank You so much. My favorite games are, Fallout 4, G.T.A. 5, and Boarderlands, All of them. Been playing Boarderlands 3 since it first came out ……………
this man is me in 50 years
I feel this is helping his brain.
What a legend
Thanks for sharing
"I love getting stuff from Amazon" my favorit quote.
The phrase “my grandpa is better than you” hits different now
I have to say. This is a different kind of gamer. He discovered games late in life and can enjoy them with a fresh eye. Ive been gaming for 35 years and I am no longer impressed with the 97th FPS I’ve played and its getting VERY hard now to find games that I like. Do you Nellore have this problem?
2:58 – 3:45 "I like to decide what I’m going to do, when I’m going to do it" That is the very reason why I am a single player gamer as well (with the exception of a few games I can co-op with my friend online or sitting next to him on the couch). I love seeing older generation get into gaming… it breaks down the wall of what a gamer is to the mainstream masses that gaming can be for everybody, even though you see more and more people in their 50’s-60’s and up getting into gaming there is still that perception about it being a kids thing and that adults playing video games are immature and need to grow up (sadly enough). Plus more and more studies are coming out that gaming can be good for brain function/activity especially in the older people that game.
I have been gaming for most of my life, 44 years old and started gaming when I was 5 on an Atari 2600. Grew up in the arcade scene as well in the 80’s, can’t tell you how many quarters I went through playing games in the arcades. I might have not been there right at the very beginning of the home console market but I have been lucky to grow up witnessing each technological progression of the generations of consoles and PC. From gameplay, graphics, storytelling, physics of games etc…. it amazes me how far gaming has come since 1980 and where it could possibly go into the future.
Good Video…. Tell Roy he has some good taste in FPS/First person view games (Dishonored and Far Cry 3) 😎👍.
I am a single player too never loved the online thing.
Hi, I am interested in getting permission to use a clip from this for something I am working on. Can you let me know your contact details to tell you more?
Listen to how sharp this guy sounded for a 95 year old! Sad to hear he passed. I’ve heard 60 year olds that don’t sound as sharp as he did.
Roy: Getting head shots
Me: just shooting at the legs
Rest in peace, Roy. Wish I could have met ya online. My next character I will create in whatever game I’ll play next will be named in your honor.
Videogames are such an amazing escape from reality. I’m so happy that people of all ages are taking advantage. Rest In Peace Roy your memory will live on.
Rest in peace Roy!
We are seniors and we would love to play some video games.
Officially now in this covid-19 workd to give us something fun to do However the ones we seem boring Are there any fantasy ones that are not so difficult to do? I would love your input.
Awesome
Imagine being rekt by some guy on a fps and then you find out that he is 95
god willing, this will be me. 45 and still gaming and i wont ever stop. Rest in Peace roy…you’re awesome!
I am 72 and I play single player and, multiplayer PC games. I just had cataracts removed in both eyes and my gaming has improved by about 40%. Now, I am the monster that I use to be. My son built his 1st gaming PC at the age of 7. We have 4 gaming PCs in our house incase young people come over and want to play too. If I live to be 95, I hope that I can still play PC games. RIP Roy, when I get to heaven I wan’t to play against you in a tournament.
Roy might have followed the flashbang, but he’ll be forever remember as the kid who did this. Hehe
I’m a 64 year old female (primarily) FPS player. I’ve played video games for 30+ years. I’ve been playing Destiny since it launched in 2014. I too, like Roy loved Wolfenstein New Order. Since the majority of the people I play with are in their early twenties, it was nice to see there are some Roy’s out there. Thanks for the story!
If he was in WW2 he should play COD WW2.
